only down by a run, I still feel pretty confident that we can pull this one off
Yea I know I can't really say I called this because down 1 run isn't a real stretch, but its nice to be right every now and then

Well you could just question every decision that is made, be right about 1 out of 10, and will fit in perfectly here.

Yes loe pitched well and nice when he not thrown in every game

No doubt...same with Gomez...the complaints on those two have been more around how they were used. Now that things have changed for Loe like they have for "Gomey", he can be real valuable and not abused.

Absolutely agreed. The way Gomez has been used in recent weeks is exactly how he SHOULD be used. Pinch running, late inning defensive replacement, and starting against lefties. Granted, he's still not very 'good' against lefties, but Morgan's career splits indicate that T Plush should NOT start vs. lefties.

Three things:

1. Suck it, Cordero.

2. Suck. It.

3. I <3 Craig Counsell, even with his 0-28 streak. Craig Counsell + bases loaded = walk-off win. Seriously, every time.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but CC's last walk-off Sac Fly before today was on the last day before the All Star break in 2008...against Cordero and the Reds.

Another great game to be at, and a 3-0 weekend for the lucky polo (sorry for not being at the game yesterday, lol).

I had the honor of enjoying the game with the hawing party this afternoon. Via our relentless optimism we defeated the heat and thoroughly enjoyed the CoCo meltdown. Nice for Craig to get the walk-off SF while mired in his hitting slump. Considering we went 4-4 this week with Braun out it's not a bad thing to go into the break tied for first. Hopefully Braun can get healthy, Prince and Rickie can put on a show in the Home Run Derby and we can come out and play some good ball on the road.

Maybe it was intentional maybe it wasn't. It surely wouldnt be a rational move to make, but pressure, frustration and emotion have combined to make even very steady folks do stupid, irrational things that they immediately regret. To say it was intentional does not mean it was necessarily malicious in the sense he wanted to hurt somebody. Nobody will ever really know his intent. Cordero may not even know, being caught up in the moment and then rationalizing it after the fact. In the moment it looked intentional. Not a head shot, but a HBP. It doesn't make sense, but lots of stuff doesn't make sense. That's what makes the world interesting.

Anyone else hoping for CC to get a hit and then announce his retirement right after? Going out as a winner, at home, while the fans still back you.
That would be awesome. Especially if it was followed by Kotsay getting the Gross treatment.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Anyway, great game today. Wish we could have capitalized in the first with the bases loaded and ended it sooner, but where is the drama in that right? Great to see these comeback wins against the Reds. Usually we can't catch a break against them. I honestly think this series will be a turning point. Get the Red's monkey off the back, and even better, RR seems to finally have figured out how to use his bull pen properly.

Funny that the JSOnline headline reads "Counsell's clutch hit in ninth lifts Brewers over Reds" when Rosiak's game story accurately begins "Craig Counsell walked out of Miller Park on Sunday afternoon still in the midst of an 0-for-28 slump, and yet he couldn't have been happier."

Nice job editors/headline folks. Since it all worked out for the best we'll let it slide.

wisconsinfan47, I was thinking of that 2008 game just as today's game ended (Walk down IGT memory lane). It turned out to be among my favorites of that season - and as you know, that season turned out to have pretty stiff competition for "good games" by its end.

Now, what would be really nice is if the Brewers' 2011 season included a postseason as well (only maybe longer than the one in 2008). Suppose Craig hitting a sac fly GWRBI in the last game before the all-star break is the key? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I'm not really a vindictive fan, but I plainly love seeing Franci$co Cordero fail against the Brewers. Hope that extra $4MM was worth it, dude. Also, suck it.

Man, was it hot at the park. Today was our group game with the S.O.'s family, so we also tailgated, which only added to the heat. I was quite happy the roof stayed open. I was happier yet that Craig got a nice hero day, if not a hit. This is the third year we've organized a family game, and I think the relatives count on us to deliver wins. So far the Brewers are 3-0 lifetime when we attend as a group. Adding to the outstandingness of the day was a very special cameo appearance by thablingster (as he notes above).

Rest up, fellows; and either stay or get healthy.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I disagree. I like CO's posts because they are generally positive and not filled with the negative knee-jerk reactions that have plagued the IGTs for the past couple of years.

I disagree. His posts are generally complaining about how other people complain about what goes on during the game. IMO, that is worse than the original complaint post whether it is knee-jerk or not.
