Lucroy was the only other option. Tonight is one of those games where it'd be nice to have a modicum of power off the bench. They've had a couple chances to trim the lead down to a couple runs, but guys like Counsell are overmatched, even against the Aaron Heilmans of the world.

And RR goes with Craig Counsell in a 4 run game with 2 on and 2 out in the 8th. Is anyone even remotely surprised?

Well Braun was unavailable, Wilson, Morgan, Gamel, Kotsay all used. I think Lucroy would've been the only one left. I could understand not wanting to burn your backup catcher but he has done so in the past.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

The starting pitching has been average and was supposed to be one of the top 3 or 4 staffs in(behind philly and SF).

In the last 8 games they have been horrible. The Brewers are about to lose their 6th series out of the last 7 and the starting pitchbing has been as big of a problem as anything else.

Mark A at the game tonight...........must be frustrating to own a team that is going through a long stretch of bad baseball....especially in a "go for it season"......

Lets hope they start to turn it around tomorrow.

And this was supposed to be the strength of the team?

Haudricourt Assuming #Brewers don't rally (hold laughter), they will be 1-7 over last 8 games with starting pitchers going 0-5 with 8.24 ERA.

Starting pitching has been the strength of the team this season. They haven't pitched well lately. I wish things had gone better in the last week or so, but it doesn't mean that on the whole, the starting five haven't done a good job.

Greinke, with his 5.66 ERA, is the only one who hasn't.

It was nice to see some life in the 9th with two outs, but for most of the game they looked like a deflated team that lost a little more air every time something bad happened. I personally think what we saw the first couple months of the season is closer to the "real Brewers" than what we've seen the past couple weeks, but they're definitely hard to watch right now.

Thankfully, it looks like the Reds are scuffling even worse right now. Hopefully Gallardo can give them a good outing tomorrow, and the Brewers can rattle off a few wins against the Reds heading into the break.

Agree with you crewcrazy...as much as they are making us mad and as much as we question many of the moves (rightfully so as well)...this team is capable of huge highs and low lows (or even lower Loe's). They will heat up again...hopefully right when they start playing teams in the division...as quick as their 3 game lead became 2 back and third place, it could turn back the other way. These guys are good, maybe not great, but good and certainly good enough for the NL Central.

Tomorrow it's Yo on the bump and Braun batting third...hang in there folks.

Coming into mid-June, I told numerous people who are more casual baseball fans, that the rest of the month would likely be miserable and to not get discouraged if things look awful as we go into July. I remind myself that, though I was hoping to not see things come off the rail this week. Cardinal fans and Reds fans have all complained just as much, have each had awful stretches, but all 3 teams will be hanging around for the division throughout the season. It's ugly, but it happens.

The problem isn't really this ugly stretch, though the back to back 5 run lead cough ups is terrible. You are going to have times when your starters are bad and you will have serious trouble winning. The issue is all those games they gave away earlier which they should have won.

So, that was a clunker.

Did it actually rain in Milwaukee during the game? We figured rain had to be on the way for them to close the roof when it was 88 degrees at game time, but the side panels were open the whole game and we saw no obvious signs of rain when we left MP. It wasn't the hottest I've sat through there, but it was warm.

We exchanged some tickets at the season ticket window and were offered a free upgrade, from section 417 to row 4 of section 110 (within 10 feet of the RF ball girl). The dramatic change in proximity was a reasonable distraction from the on-field suck, at least. I was struck at how many of the people around us paid almost no attention to the game, even in the first eight minutes when it was still a game. You'd pay $100 per seat to jabber about everything from Nazi Germany to what you and your buddy remember from kindergarten? (Just two of the topics discussed by the guys to my left). They were nice once-in-a-while novelty seats, but I'll take my season seats most of the time.

The hawing record is now 13-5. I hope this is the worst game we attend in 2011, because it would mean the worst is behind us. During this game we decided to use our Thursday night tickets, mostly to get Tuesday's game out of our systems.

Finally, sorry I didn't perform in the 3-hole, but I'm thrilled to have made SoCalBCF's lineup. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Edit: Ridiculously after the fact, but I totally called Prince's "meaningless solo shot," and I have a witness in the S.O. to prove it.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

First, how do you get free upgrades? I've exchanged tickets before, and have never been offered anything. Heck, I consider it lucky if the guy even knows about exchanging tickets. Do you use the outside ST window or the inside window? Is it because I already sit in the Field level? But even their prices and perks rate this as worse seats than Terrace Reserve. Maybe it has something to do with the second point.

We had chances for free tickets in those sections. My mom choose yesterday and was sitting there. So I bet a lot of the people sitting there didn't pay a cent (well, bought season tickets) for those tickets. Maybe that's why they offered free upgrades.

Between the lack of respect to certain ST holders (I had to obtain NYCE passes from Hawing despite having a full ticket account since 02. Thanks again!) and the Brewers lack of play recently have me a bit testy.

Robin19, I don't know if it's more than random luck, but I'll send you a PM about it rather than take this thread on a tangent.

If I haven't sent the PM by Thursday, send me a reminder.
