Zach Duke

1-3, 5.92

Duke is still trying to find his rhythm after missing the first two months due to a broken left hand. After tossing seven shutout innings in his first start, Duke is 0-3 with a 7.26 ERA. He did pitch a little better last time out against the Indians.

Randy Wolf

6-5, 3.33

Considering he needed 36 pitches for the first inning, and that the Brewers' bullpen was thin, Wolf's seven-inning start in New York was a disaster-avoider. He allowed four runs and lost for the first time since May 17.

It's Zach "slump-buster" Duke. I hope Braun is playing tonight. If the Brewers can't beat Duke, then you know they are in real trouble.

The lineup should be straightforward tonight:

Weeks

Gomez

Braun

Fielder

Hart

McGehee

Yuni

Lucroy

Got one wrong at least. Wolf is pitching, so Kottaras will be in there. And Yuni hit in front of McGehee yesterday, so never know. If Braun doesn't play, then it'll really be bad.

And yet, with the really bad lineups, the offense hasn't been the problem with Braun out.

The past couple games have been frustrating, but if there's anything positive that can come from it, hopefully it's a reminder to never take the foot off the accelerator.

I'm skeptical that fans can be "the stopper," but the Brewers' 2011 record in games we've attended is still pretty solid, so I'll see what the hawing party can do. Fingers crossed.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Its been years since I posted on here, but this got my blood boiling. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Josh Wilson in LF? Yuni batting 5th? What is Roenicke doing?

Just proves...this is not a very good team. There are several very good players on this team and 2 great players, but the overall makeup of this roster is pretty poor.

Hahaha, boy was I right. This lineup is horrible. I'd rather see Morgan in LF and batting 8th or something than Wilson. Wilson won't do anything, and isn't even an OF. I'd rather have Morgan in there just for his defense. Betancourt hitting 5th is still a complete joke. Braun really needs to get back soon.

What a pathetic line-up! Good thing we're going up against Duke tonight, otherwise it would be a sure-fire loss. At least now, we have a chance.

If you're going with those batters, why not put McGehee in at the #3 so that he can see some good pitches. Weeks, Lucroy, McGehee, Fielder, Hart, Betancourt, Wilson, Gomez. That would make a lot more sense than what RR has jotted out there.

I'm 14-5 this year, and I'm also going. So we'll double the mojo.
Woah, you're at like 8 WAR this season. You ought to be cashing in big time in free agency.

Wilson career vs. LHP: .212/.282/.323/.605. Ouch.

Given the roster, I don't even know what I'd change (obviously apart from having some more flexibility with the Lucroy/Wolf thing). I might actually consider just starting Morgan in place of Wilson despite his career .201/.290/.276/.566 line simply for his defense. Wilson has never played a major league game in the OF. He has played RF in 1 game in the minors in his career. This could be scary.

What the heck? Is this not a reason to bring up Boggs or any of the other AAA OF's who are raking?

Lets start an IF who has never started a game in the OF because we want Kotsay to play vs righties???

What is this team doing? I thought we were going for it this year.

I don't want Braun to push it if he doesn't have to. I also don't want to be deprived of being able to say I once watched a major league game in which the 5-6-7 hitters were Betancourt, McGehee and Wilson.

As annoyed as I am with RR, there's just not much you can do with this current roster that will materially impact the outlook for the game. So here's my suggestion:

Rickie 4

Hart 9

hawing 6

Prince 3

PrinceEatMeat 5

Gallardo 7

Gomez 8

Hanel 2

Wolf 1

I think PrinceEatMeat will offer plenty of "protection" for Prince and hawing has never lost in 3 games seeing Duke (3/3 should be enough for RR).

McCalvy and Haudricourt tweet that Braun is a "no-go" tonight. Probably for the best. As bad as things have been lately, the offense hasn't been the problem and there's no sense in risking further injury if he's not 100%.

HAHAHA!!! Best post I have seen in some time.

I love Hanel in there and you didn't even mention him.
