Updates: Yuku access and chat issues

For those of you who use the subscription feature…

We are currently working on notifications for topics, forums and boards you are subscribed to.

While

this is being worked on, you may receive sporadic notifications, or you

may receive notifications for topics made before you subscribed to a

board. We are not 100% finished with this yet. There is no need to

submit tickets on this until we announce the completion of this project.

Going

forward, it is extremely important that you do not mark our mails as

spam and that our mails do not bounce. Please check the email on your

account and make sure it is up to date. We simply cannot afford too many

spam marks or bounced mails.

Thank you

All notifications will now be sent from team@yuku.com instead of staff@yuku.com

Please make sure to add team@yuku.com to your contacts list, whitelist, etc.. to ensure that you will be receiving our mails.

Checking to make sure your registered e-mail address is up to date is always a good idea. There are times when it matters, such as retrieving lost passwords.

To check (or change) your e-mail in an unconverted profile:

  1. Hit the Account link on pages with the traditional navigation bar or the wrench icon on pages with the new bar.
  2. Hit the "Email" link in the Settings box and follow the directions.
To check (or change) your e-mail in a converted profile:

  1. Hit the Account link on pages with the traditional navigation bar or the wrench icon on pages with the new bar.
  2. Hit the Edit link to the right of where your e-mail address is displayed.

tomwopat, try going to this Adobe page:

http://www.macromedia.com.../settings_manager07.html

While there, hit the "Delete all sites" button in the control panel at the top. That would dump any Flash information that might be stored on your computer. Clearing that has been known to help some people with access issues.

I thought I was on to something last night by logging out and logging in, but that didn't seem to work tonight. However, logging out, clearing the flash information, then logging seems to have done the trick. I'll report whether I'm still unable to log in using this process.

You may want to set Flash so sites can't store anything on your computer at all. I think you do that by hitting the second icon (Global Storage Settings) and moving the slider to none. You can probably also move the slider to none in the Website Storage Settings (the sixth icon, which is the one where you clear your storage). If things work right, sites will still be listed, but they won't store anything.

If you have a Mac and your Flash is up to date, you'll have a Flash System Preference pane. Go to System Preferences (via the Apple Menu), and choose Flash Player (in the "Other" category). Under the Storage tab, choose "Block all sites from storing information on this computer."

I've been blocking all Flash storage for quite a while, and nothing that I know of has broken because of it.

In the chat, when I hit enter, it doesn't submit and just brings me to a new line. Not user friendly to the point that I left the chat. Not like I add much anyway, but still. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Is there a way to change this?

Hitting enter works sometimes, and other times it doesn't. If there's a trick for controlling it, I haven't found it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

I wasn't able to pull up the WYSIWYG editor to post this message. I'm hoping it'll work via Quick Reply.

There was a significant outage during the overnight hours, and I'm hearing that there are lingering issues across the system.

If people are having trouble, it would help if they post to this topic, or as an alternative, e-mail me via the About Us page. If several people say that they're experiencing problems, I can submit a help ticket. If I say that one or two of us are having trouble, I'm more likely to get blown off.

As of now, the chat room appears to be dead (again). Hopefully, it's up by game time.

I put in a ticket this morning about chat being down. Here's the reason it happens.

Hi there, we had to restart the chat servers that is why you got that

error. We had to restart them because Amazon changes the main IP

regularly for failover purposes. When this happens, the chat server

doesn't update and it can't authenticate people. We then need to manually

update it. That is why chat goes down now and then, because of the

changing IP.We are looking into a way to automate it or to be alerted

more properly.Server has been updated now and chat is back up.
