If this gets out of hand later I honestly think Counsell and Kotsay should both pitch an inning. There is no sense using up pen innings any more in this series. It would be possibly the biggest on-field contribution either guy could make to the team at this point.

This game is on MLB Network with YES coverage. They just showed a short interview with CC about his time in Milwaukee. He loved it here, at one point saying that pitching against us would be just as weird for him as pitching against the Indians and that even though it was only 3 months, he felt like he played here his whole career. Best time of his career by far.

I hope he has some sound advice for Prince. Live within your means, invest well, and 120 million plus being happy is worth a heck of a lot more than 200 million and not being happy.

Well, he has the opportunity to really show Prince the way by opting out of the Yankees $92 million for the next 4 years and settling for much less money from Milwaukee.

Its like our pitchers are scared out there. How many walks have we given up in this series?
They really aren't pitching any differently; the Yankees aren't chasing. Brewers came into the series among the leaders in all of baseball when it comes to drawing swinging strikes and getting batters to chase out of the zone. Yankees are among the league leaders when it comes to laying off pitches out of the zone. All series long, if it's a ball, they just don't swing at it, even if it's a hair off the plate. Kind of impressive to watch, albeit frustrating from the Brewers' perspective.

Yeah, it's hyperbole to say that he isn't happy in New York, but it's also telling that he called three months in Milwaukee the best time of his career despite winning a World Championship the very next year with the Yankees; all the while drawing a gigantic paycheck. I would dismiss this as fluff if he was saying it to FSN Wisconsin and BA and Bill, since it could easily just be dismissed as him being a nice guy and telling them what they want to hear. But he said this to the YES network and to their announcers doing the game.

All you can do is appreciate the fact that the Brewers play in a winnable division. Imagine being the Jays or Os and going into a season knowing you have virtually no chance of even competing for a wildcard.

Yes, much better to be in our 6 team division rather than even a 3 team division with Boston and the Yankees.

There is not a single team in the AL East that wouldn't change places with the Brewers (in about a millisecond) in terms of simple competitive balance and post-season opportunity. The 6-team thing is a bunch of whining.

Anyone else just have the dreaded feeling that this game is already over? 3-0 shouldn't be impossible to overcome, but with the road version of the Brewers, it sure seems like it. We can't even consistently score 2 runs on the road, yet alone 4-5.

Isn't it harder for Yankee fans to get excited about a team that was largely bought? I suspect they don't really care but it would bug me. Bill Gates could decide to buy the Royals tomorrow and turn them into a perennial World Series contenders by spending $250 mil/year. It just seems kind of makes the whole thing a farce.

It's almost like every other professional league understands the importance of competitive balance except baseball.

Its really like we are a triple A team compared to these guys. Its not like other teams never beat them. 1 out of 3 shouldn't be too much to ask for one of the best teams in the National League.

On our way to 2-7 against the RS, Rays, and Yanks.

Fixed. Seriously, it feels like most road games are over before they even start.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

If it makes anyone feel better about this series (it probably won't), the Yankees are 14-4 in their last 18 games, including a dominating sweep of the Rangers in which they outscored Texas 27-10. Don't know if there's anyone that can beat them right now.
