I guess people in south florida really don't care about the Marlins.
That's true, but this is also what happens when you are just a renter in the stadium you play. Drawing between 20,000-30,000 fans paying $30 apiece for tix for a three game series pales in comparison to drawing 70,000 fans paying $250-$500 apiece for a concert. Not to mention parking, concessions, etc.

I don't get why they didn't just play it at one of the numerous minor league stadiums in Florida though. Or perhaps in Puerto Rico. They might even get a better gate attendance at a more intimate minor league stadium, as sad as that is.

The Marlins have a terrible stadium lease at Sun Life Stadium. They really didn't have a choice in the matter. It wouldn't have even mattered if the Marlins fans cared more.

Edit: on a related note, the Dolphins are having big problems selling season tickets this year, all the home games are probably going to be blacked out this year. From what I can tell, most fans down here prefer the Jets anyway.

They couldn't have the concert when the Marlins were on the road?

Probably, but it just shows you how much the Dolphins care about the Marlins.

It was originally scheduled that way, but the first concert tour was cancelled and was when it was re-scheduled the Marlins scheduled had already been made, but lost the precedence battle.

It would have been painful to lose to the AAA Twins, so this is a really nice win to have in the bag. If Pittsburgh loses today, the Brewers will be up 3 on STL, up 4 on PIT, up 4 on CIN, and up 12+ on CHI and HOU. I've said it before and I'll say it again: If the Brewers can get out of interleague play ahead of the Cardinals and Reds, they are in great shape to take the division. Here's to hoping they're more than a couple games ahead by the end of interleague play.

It seems like FSN is just trying to find excuses to interview Morgan.

Why wouldn't they? Dude is hilarious. I never tune in to the postgame stuff but if they say Morgan is getting interviewed I stay and watch. Even ESPN is picking up on how awesome he is. Jim Rome, after Morgan's first interview on his TV show the next day said something like "Morgan needs to be a correspondent for this show yesterday."
