2011-06-26 Twins (Pavano) at Brewers (Narveson) - [Brewers win, 6-2]

Doesn't a fresh arm beat the match-up scenario.
No. Even though he got a hit anyway, Thome KILLS right handed pitching....career OPS of over 1.000. Without a lefty in the pen, leaving Narveson in was the right move.

There's a big whopping PHEW...

Nice job Hawk. I'd have no problem with the patented RRR Loe/Ax move today. Loe has been solid when he's rested and Ax has been ridiculous. With an off day tomorrow having them work is probably not a bad idea.

Cincy, Pitt & the Classies all losing...this could be a great way to cap off a solid weekend. That would guarantee we'd still have a share of first no matter what happens in NYC.

they were both earned. Did the broadcast only show one?

Yes, they had a graphic that said only one was earned and then Brian said only one was earned. The broadcast was wrong which is just shocking.

Hawkins hasn't pitched in 6 days and just threw 5 pitches. I'd argue he needs more work than Loe who pitched on Friday.

Hey, guys you might notice that Narveson struggles late. Your 5th starter won't give you 110 good pitches.
He just did.
No he didn't. He gave 85 good pitches and 17 bad ones.
You could that about every pitcher. Unless you are throwing constant shutouts, nobody is then going to give you 110 good pitches.

I don't understand Braun getting a single on that. He clearly would have been out.

It's a difficult call. If Casilla wouldn't have made the play cleanly it probably would have been ruled a hit since it was a very tough play ranging over to the middle. But since he did pick it clean he gets penalized for not making a very difficult throw? I'd call it a hit.
