2011-06-26 Twins (Pavano) at Brewers (Narveson) - [Brewers win, 6-2]

This game certainly isn't over so I may be jinxing the team but this Twins lineup might be the worst I have ever seen. To be fair I don't watch much AL baseball but I only know one player (Cuddyer) from their lineup. I have heard of Casilla and Repko before (I think).

They've had a brutal season though. How many names do you know from this lineup?

Jason Kubel RF - Jun 26: 15-Day DL

Delmon Young LF - Jun 25: 15-Day DL

Kevin Slowey RP - Jun 25: 15-Day DL

Denard Span CF - Jun 25: 7-Day DL

Jim Thome DH - Jun 24: 15-Day DL

Justin Morneau 1B - Jun 24: 15-Day DL

Tsuyoshi Nishioka SS - Jun 24: Day-To-Day

Joe Mauer C - Jun 24: Day-To-Day

Joe Nathan RP - Jun 22: 15-Day DL

I like letting Narveson work here. 4 Run lead and the Twins don't really have any home run threats. Narveson needs to get better with guys on base, and he'll never get better unless he is given a chance to work through some of them....

Check that. Mauer and and Thome now up, pull him. Although it's tough to pull the lefty. Good move by Gardenhire.

Leaving in Narveson for Mauer here is the right call. Creative, good managing move by the Twins to bring in a lefty to face Narveson at this point though.

Hey, guys you might notice that Narveson struggles late. Your 5th starter won't give you 110 good pitches.

"...unless your 5th starter is Chris Narveson"... is what i'm hoping we can be saying in the near future.

i'm picturing t shirts

i saw the question asked but no one answered it so i'll ask again..

What did Tony Plush do last night?

Didn't hear what Anderson said, was he just talking about Morgan rolling over Wilson on the final play?

I think it was something other than that. I think he made a reference to him speaking in some format...

I think they were referring to a funny interview in the clubhouse last night. They had it on Brewers Live Pregame.

I like them leaving Narv in there with no lefty to go to...not much choice really. I might be more nervous if Mauer was locked in. Nice job to limit the damage there.

Doesn't a fresh arm beat the match-up scenario.

Not in my opinion. Narveson should have a pretty good feel for what pitches to throw and what they are going to do at that point. If Mauer had 2-3 at bats against Narveson I would have felt different. I liked the matchup when Mauer hadn't seen any pitches, would probably need to see at least a few to find good timing and see Narveson's release point.
