The Giants' pitching quieted down the Twins' offense, so hopefully the hot streak is over. It would also be nice to continue the streak of avoiding consecutive home losses.

Gonna beat a dead horse here.

Hate the Lucroy can't catch Wolf thing with a passion. Had a day off yesterday, but now he still has to sit because he can’t catch Wolf. Lucroy has looked like he is breaking out of his slump, but now he is off for two days because of our #4 starter.

Don’t reply with your a catcher is never going to catch X amount of games comments. It makes no sense here. Because of this Lucroy will only be catching 4 of the next 6 games, and they have an off day on Monday. He should be catching Wolf tonight and the Kottaras can catch Wolf at Yankee Staduim to take advantage of that short porch in right.

Of course RRR would never think ahead at all.

This was a good argument back when Lucroy was hitting well, and Nieves was the backup catcher. Right now, Lucroy is having a horrible month at the plate (.190 AVG .230 OBP) and Kottaras has looked good (2-5 2 HR 3 RBI in his 2 starts). Won't complain at all when he plays.

I won't complain about Kottaras because he isn't Nieves lol. I'll be out at the park wearing my Brewers polo which only sports one loss on the year. In that game my friend caught a foul ball, so we assume that to be a win as well. Hopefully the day off provides some energy and Wolf can stay sharp.

Now that Kottaras is the catcher that plays when Wolf pitches I am fine with it. Get another power bat in the lineup and give Lucroy a day off at least once per week. Now if Nieves was still our #2 catcher that would be a different story.

Hopefully Wolf can keep his strong season going tonight.

So Kottaras is going to keep up his every hit a HR pace? Kottaras last 3 games 3 of 9 2 HR 3 RBI vs Lucroy last 3 games 4 of 10 1 HR 1 RBI. There those stats are more comparable. I will laugh when he is back to his .200 self with bad defense and I bet there will be some complaining. Also, to the other OP who considers Kottaras a power bat, I'm not sure if i would go that far.

I do agree he is 100 times better than Nieves. That I can't argue with.

Kottaras is a power bat. He has a career ISO of .185

I am really worried about this this weekend. Actually I am worried about the next 9. If we can find some way to be at .500 when this is over, its pretty good.

I assume you mean going around 4-5 or 5-4 over the next nine, since the only way we'll fall below .500 overall is if we go 1-8, which would assuredly not be pretty good.

The best power hitters in the game will have an ISO around .300 and anyone with

an ISO over .200 is hitting for power at a good clip. An ISO below .200

indicates that a vast majority of the players hits are not going for extra

bases.
