Robot Chicken: Star Wars Special

Principessa21

I didn't see this anywhere, and since it deserves it's own thread..

I caught this parady Sunday night. My favorite parts were with Jar Jar "Ani, Ani!" and part with after Vadar tells Luke he's his father. I just read that Lucas loved the idea, and also supplied his voice, along with Mark Hamill.

Anyway, the whole thing is online:

"Huh? What do you mean they blew up the death star? Who's they?? What the hell is an aluminum falcon?! ...Ohh oh oh, I'm sorry I thought my dark lord of the sith could protect a small thermal exhaust board thats only two meters wide!! That thing wasn't even paid off yet!! Do you have any idea what this is going to do to my credit?!" - Senator Palpatine

This was the funniest thing I've seen in a while, classic.

and part with after Vadar tells Luke he's his father.

My biggest complaint was that it wasn't a full 30 minutes of new material. That bit, and the George W. Bush sketch had already been aired on earlier "Robot Chicken" episodes.

Of the new stuff, the 'reactor' sketch in the detention block was probably my favorite.

It always amazes me the number of headline celebs that Seth Green can rope into doing vocal work on the show.

They had (or said they had) George Lucas as a guest, which is impressive.

I liked when Palpatine was threatening Luke and was interrupted by construction noise and went over to complain to the foreman. The foreman is like, "look, Mr. Saltine, I don't tell you how to threaten your blond kid".

I don't really like Seth Green and the show itself is hit and miss but when it hits it's really good. I love how they get celebrities on there to do three word scenes.

Besdies Seth's big series of Buffy and Family Guy and his movie work, his dad is Bruce Green iirc. Bruce Green is a TV director who has been working steadily since the early 1980s (he might be retired now). Whiel TV directors aren't really widely known outside of Hollywood, they are known there because they can get lots of people jobs. So Seth has access to a large rolodex.

I really thought the Robot Chicken death curse would catch on. I mean both Don Knotts and Pat Morita kick the bucket after doing Robot Chicken!

That was really funny! Thanks for the link. I'm a Star Wars fan so this was of course rather funny.

I don't watch TV much and don't keep up with these kinds of things so it's nice to have a link to it like this.

Too many funny parts with the Emperors personality/quotes probably being the funniest to me.

"I don't speak-o minimum wage-o."

Or the subtle detention center scene with all the flash conference call with some guys around the "office" and then Vader. And of course Vader opts for adding a reactor....I don't know, if you've worked in a few different industries and in an office, that's a very funny joke.

I've worked on software projects before where an architect for a certain system is called and asked about something that turns out doesn't exist but maybe could and they go on about how it should exist and how to design it, etc and basically "invent" what you've just asked about even though it's probably not needed or exists elsewhere blah, blah, blah.
