Why don't we give up more solo shots???
Good question, and I'd follow up with why don't we hit more 3 run shots?
These two questions have been epically frustrating this year.

Dillard isn't really that good at all, epsecially against lefties. We're in a 1 run game in the 7th. You have a relief pitcher in Hawkins with an ERA under 1, yet he just sits there doing nothing. Mitre was an option too.

If at any time the bullpen management comes into play, I have complete faith in RR to make the absolutely WRONG move. He doesn't seem to understand matchups, make changes twice in one inning or anything like that. Dillard in the 7th with 2 lefties due up....completely the wrong choice.

Why is it that in every game we play, we seem to have to scratch and claw for every run we get, where other teams just score at will.

6-7-8 for the Rays just generated 3 runs (plus the 2 from the second inning). When was the last time our 6-7-8 hitters even all reached base in the same game? Case in point, our 6-7-8 hitters just produced 3 outs in about ten pitches.

It's kind of hilarious to watch Betancourt AB's these days. Seems like he has been taking first pitches a lot more as of late. Of course, he just goes right back to hacking after that. That's why you can't really mandate plate discipline.

1-4 has reached 6 of 12 times; 5-8 is 1 for 12. I think that's just how it's going to be this year.

so now we go play a hot hot Minny team for 6 games ugh and then to play the Yankees not looking like a good two weeks for the Brewers and their fans. The FO needs to make some moves at the deadline before we waste Prince last season here.

Yep, I agree with this completely. I think it must have been the relatively high hopes coming into this year, but I don't recall being this numb about the Brewers in a while. Other years I've been angry, or hopeful, this year I'm just resigned to this team being what it is. Hopefully, they continue on top, or around the top, and it will all work out.
You may run like Mays...

Sadly, that's probably right. It's also why we're terribly inconsistent, and we have a hard time scoring runs. If 1-4 doesn't drive runs in, the rest of the lineup simply can't produce any. I guess that's what happens when you fill out your lineup with guys like Betancourt, Gomez, Kotsay and McGehee. I have a very hard time beliveing we can win the division with half a lineup that is absolutely terrible.

Chiming in late because I can only peek occasionally at

Gameday...is this the end of whatever Dillard honeymoon there was?

I don't blame Dillard for this. It's not his fault that he is a ROOGY. It's not his fault that Braun can't catch a routine fly ball. He's actually locating his pitches well today.

OK, thanks. It's good to have the additional context.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

This makes the Hawkins situation rage inducing;

While Loe continues to fill-in for injured Takashi Saito as Milwaukee’s eight-inning man, Roenicke has been mixing and matching in the seventh. He’d like to find some stability there, and Hawkins could be the pick if he continues to get such positive results.

“We’re trying to find who’s going to be that guy,” Roenicke said. “I thought it was going to be Estrada for a while. He’s struggled lately. [Tim] Dillard has probably thrown good enough to slip in there. Then ‘Hawk,’ with his numbers and how he’s been doing, he’s a guy that I think I should put in there also.”

Hawkins wants increased role in ‘pen

Hawkins has pitched 3 innings since this, none of them high leverage.

The fact that RR can't simply play a matchup or a hunch in the 7/8 innings is pathetic. The fact that Hawkins hasn't even earned the shot is pathetic too. He's our best relief pitcher numbers wise, and he can't even get into a setup role. yet Loe and his 5+ ERA can't do enough to blow his spot.

Price had 70 pitches after 4 innings. He is about to finish the 8th with about 110 or so and is mowing us down. Way to work the counts guys and get one of the games best pitchers out of the game.

In retrospect, it wasn't completely Dillard's fault. If Braun makes a routine catch to start the inning, things might be different. That being said, the walk, then the pitch right down the middle were terrible. As it seems to go for the Brewers this season, every mistake we seem to make is hit out of the yard.
