You've got to enjoy how often we get first inning runs.

A fun stat to calculate would be the percentage of times through the order that at least one of the 1-4 hitters scores a run or records an RBI. It is probably close to 50% if not more.

God Bless Uke...but hopefully this game gets out of hand so he can really shine. Fielder's hit sounded like it was going to be a single, and then suddenly it was a double play. Just playing with me.

Out of hand in favor of the Brewers (just avoiding Be Careful What You Wish For Syndrome....)

Fielder hit a weak bouncer right to the 2B bag. Braun was running on the pitch and arrived at the same time as the ball was fielded. It was an easy tag since he wasn't sliding, then the throw to 1st beat Fielder by about 3 steps. I think it would have been a DP either way.

It's a night and day difference between this year and last. It's also one of the reasons I don't mind sacrificing in the first just so we can grab an early lead.
I'd rather play for the most runs early. That's what's going to maximize the odds of winning.

Bad call at 1B, but I'll take the pickoff.

Edit: The Rays broadcast has shown the replay about 1,000 times now...yep, he was safe...ok still safe...safe from that angle as well...back to the first angle again--safe...

marcum is pretty lucky that bob davidson wasn't behind the plate, because he definitely would have called that a balk. he might have actually been right for once too.

and rodriguez was safe.
