Jeremy Hellickson

7-5, 3.09

The right-hander was part of a pitchers' duel with Josh Beckett in his last start on Wednesday against Boston. But Beckett outlasted him, as Hellickson ended up receiving the loss after allowing three runs in seven innings.

Well, at least Braun is back tonight. Braun at half strength, or even 25% is better than Kotsay. I'm guessing Yuni bought himself another month of starts by getting 2 hits last night.

I'll be at the game tonight dodging severe storms and hoping for the best. With Pujols down this is the time to make a run at burying the Cardinals. A long start by ZG would be much appreciated with the Marcum uncertainty tomorrow.

The Brewers/Cards schedules are pretty similar from now until the break. They get Phils, O's, Jays and Rays. Crew gets Yanks, Twins, Twins and Rays. Both also have D-Backs and Reds going into break. With Crew a game back in the loss column right now I'd probably be happy enough with any gain at all, provided the Reds don't get hot and pass 'em both by when they play the Cards and Crew for 7 straight roadies before the break. If the Brewer keep on giving up runs like they have for the past week, just staying even will likely be too much to ask. The Brewer offense simply hasn't been as good as either of their main divisional competitors.

Let's hope tonight proves in hindsight to be a pivotal game where the Crew got their swagger back a bit. They seem kind of beat down right now. Not having a day off in forever may have something to do with it, but it's big boy baseball and they need to just keep grinding until they get hot again.

McGehee is playing better, but for me it's not as much about getting him out of the 5 spot as it is about giving Hart some significant time there to see how it works. I think he'd be a productive 5 hitter, and I don't think it could hurt the team to give it a shot.

Not feeling great about Greinke especially when these hitters see him a 2nd time. Some pitches getting a lot of the strike zone and some others throw aways. Feeling a 6.1 IP, 4 ER type start.
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

When will our manager wake up and get Casey out of the #5 spot.
Not saying he's been a world beater, but McGehee quietly has an 8 game hitting streak.
Yeah, I have no problem with McGehee in the 5 spot anymore. He should've been moved down during his slump, but he's hitting fine now.
