Hatton vs Mayweather

bbrauch2000
I know boxing has had its troubles lately but this really could be the best fight we've seen in years. Two undefeated champions with completely differing styles. Throw in some crazy english guys from Manchester to cheer him on and im in for $59.95 this fall

Hatton's move forward-mauling style would either make Mayweather run all night or trap him and give him issues he's never had before....

That's makes the fight either awesome or terrible with no inbetween.

Seeing as I am someone who hates guys like Mayweather who run all the time, I'd definitely want to see Hatton get in there, wrestle him a bit so he can't get away and deck the guy.

Smart move by Hatton calling Mayweather out... it certainly helped get him this fight.

The only question is weight. While Mayweather fought slightly above his normal against Oscar at 154, Ricky fights at 140 and looked weaker when he moved up for a fight against Collazo last year.

Hatton fights are hilarious. Both are great showmen in their own way.

Unfortunately, I think the fight wouldn't be very good. Like Rp said, whenever differing styles get together, it's either awesome or flat out terrible... I think this one would be terrible because Mayweather is too quick.

Just an opinion, though. I'm wrong all the time.

Mayweather will light him up with ease.

At least there's a Great White Hope for some folks now, even though he's never beaten anyone of consequence other than Kotsya Tsztzu and a shot Jose Luis Castillo last week. He's more of a Great White Hype.

Hatton's brawling style should at least keep the fight interesting at my estimation. The one thing that would really draw my interest is that Hatton is looking for his place in history. He's said in interviews that he wants to be in a Gatti-Ward type fight that can secure his legacy and this is the fight that would do it. Worst case, its a huge pay day for a guy who has flown under the radar for most of his career.

This fight could look a lot like the Creed-Balboa fight in Rocky 2. One guy wanting to brawl and the other looking to dance.
