No big deal. Just keep winning just keep winning 75% of the home games and nobody will care that the Brewers are the worst road team in the National League. Taking 5 of 6 from the Twins and Rays should be a piece of cake.

Well that was a terrible game. I admit I turned it off when the 3 run homer was hit in the first inning. Checked in on the net a few times but saw it got worse and finished terribly.

Still a chance the Royals come back and the Brewers hold a 1 game lead. Amazing they played this poorly and still sit in 1st place.

Hope the new week brings better results.

1-2 in Boston isn't terrible, but it seems worse after what happened in Chicago. Wakefield's knuckleball was nasty today -- he could actually control it -- and Yo just couldn't locate anything in that first inning. At least watching Gomez flail at the knuckler was good for a few laughs this afternoon. I can't help but wonder if the series would look any different if Marcum didn't get hurt in the first inning of the opener, but the Red Sox are obscenely hot right now...I think they've won something like 13 of 15.

It would've been nice to build up a lead in the division with the Cardinals slumping, but who knows what happens now with Pujols' wrist.

1-2 in Boston isn't terrible. 1-3 in Chicago is. The Crew have lost 4 of their last 6 series. The sweeps of the Cards and Marlins, series in which they won 5 1-run games, kept their record from suffering. They are again, by winning percentage, the worst road team in teh NL.

They have a 13 home/6 road stretch in front of them going into the AS break. Then they coume out of the break with a 9-game/10-day west coast trip. Brewers had better find a way to make the homestands pay off big, especially vs the Reds and DBacks. If the organization is truly "all-in" this season, just sneaking into the playoffs isn't good enough. I doubt anyone catches Philly for the top spot, but if the Crew really want to give themselves a fighting chance in the post-season they need to figure out a way to win the division and finish with the second best record in the NL. My gut tells me that that spot is available. My gut also tells me that if the Brewers fail to win the division they probably fail to make the playoffs. No matter how you slice it, that would make this season a disappointment, if not an outright failure.

hmm, me thinks it won't be a "piece of cake." Niemann, Hellickson, and Price go for the Rays--that's tough just right there. And then the Twins have turned on their Twin-ness and gone 14-2 in June thus far.

Sorry, this is no cake walk. But .500 or better is still expected.

That statement was so over the top I didn't think blue was necessary.
