Sure glad to have an awful defensive and no offense catcher back.

So you'd rather have Lucroy playing for about the 18th straight game starting at catcher today? Because if Nieves is still in Milwaukee he wouldn't be playing anyway.

I hope Kottaras goes yard in his first AB.

You guys still celebrating Kottaras back there? I remind you that a catcher has to play defense every single inning, but only hits 4 times a game.

Nieves sucked on defense too. He only had a defensive specialist rep because he couldnt hit.

At least George can bat. 1 of 2 is better than 0 of 2.

I am so tired of people complaining about this team. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Am I right?

Greinke gave up one run and then Kottaras gave up another. The negativity towards Greinke is kind of strange. He struck out two with a runner on third or at least would have had the second had Kottaras caught an easy ball

Well, that's gonna give ammo back to any Nieves supporters...
DFA Kottaras.

Ugly passed ball, but the guy hasn't caught Greinke much outside of a couple rehab starts and it's his first inning back in the majors. In his career, Kottaras averages one passed ball per 66 innings, Nieves one per 158 innings. One has to imagine the bat more than makes up for the extra 1.5 passed balls per 150 innings.

Are there any Nieves supporters on here anymore?

Do people forget about Nieves dropping Kotsay's ball that hit him square in the glove, leading to a run that should've been an out? Just because Kottaras has a passed ball in his first inning back doesn't mean that will be the case all year. And he is also not terrible offensively. He might have a bad average but he hits for power and draws walks. Nieves does none of those.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

Is that run on George or ZG?

It was a high fastball, and by high I mean just out of the strike zone. I'm guess it was a cross up, hopefully those kinks can be worked out. However, it's not like this is the first time Kottaras has caught Greinke since he was catching during Zack's rehab assignment.

Hopefully George hits a bomb here to make up for it--or at least gets on base.

Kottaras is an above avg offensive catcher, especially for a backup. And that's the second time I've seen you post that he can't hit.

He's a "no offense catcher" like Nieves is a "good defensive catcher".
