Wow. Working this afternoon and just checked in. I guess this one will be coming off the DVR without being watched. Looks like Greinke didn't pitch too well, is that the case?

Didn't pitch well, but also got no help at all from the defense. Of the first 5 runs, only 2 were batted in.

Anyone wanna say Weeks doesn't have terrible baseball IQ again?

Yes.

Just because a player is good or has talent doesn't mean he's a smart player. I've seen Weeks make so many stupid mistakes over the years. He might not be on the Gomez level but he still does stupid things that make no sense.

Nah, your post was a reaction to his bad game, but not a reflection of his overall career.

Actually I've been saying that about him for years but how would you know that.

Nice to see Betancourt getting a hit -- a one out, bases empty single in the ninth down by 7 runs. I'm sorry, but this guy doesn't belong in the majors. And as far as I'm concerned, neither does Ron Roenicke. I haven't seen this type of pitching/game mismanagement since Grady Little...

Thx guys for such a wonderful series. Now the Cubs are stick with that bald headed freak of a manager who is so bad at managing that I actually wish we had Bruce Kimm back. Thx again. Best of luck going forward.

Baseball is a funny game sometimes. When the Brewers were tearing up the NL, the Cards were right with them, refusing to lose. Now, the Brewers get embarrassed by the Iowa Cubs, and they actually pick up a half game on the Cardinals.

It was a frustrating series...but with how well the team was playing, a hiccup like this was bound to happen. Hopefully it is not the sign of some kind of downward spiral. Like davemakovec points out, they actually are up a bit in the standings due to STL's poor play of late.

Hopefully the team goes into Boston tonight with a chip on their shoulders and beat up on John Lackey (who is having a terrible season) to regain some momentum.
