Brewers draft picks in the CWS

Hey can someone help me out here. I'm sure this has been talked about somewhere but I don't want to dig through all the threads to try to find it. Taylor Jungmann has got one of the funkiest releases I've ever seen. Is there any concern about injury here? Is he going to have to adjust his mechanic? That release just looks like it hurts.

Other than that though, he is looking really impressive through two innings. Nice to see 93-95 on the gun. Hopefully that can last deep into the game.

Yes there was talk of his short stride and adjusting his mechanics some, X thought he could pickup more velocity with a more conventional lower half.

He's not inducing many swings and misses with that curve, but he locates it well. Just threw his first 2 seam, 89 MPH.

Here you go, TheCrew07:
Taylor Jungmann, RHP, Brewers:[/b] The Brewers are no doubt hoping their top pick, taken No. 12 overall, can get to Milwaukee quickly. Jungmann will be coming off a stellar career at the University of Texas, during which he played at a high level, faced top competition and had no problem with the spotlight. He's got three plus pitches and maintains his stuff through a game. As his command improves, he'll shoot through the Brewers' system.
Dunno if that's quite true, but there you go, it is written.

Yea that's pretty much exactly what his MLB.com scouting report said, I'm guessing Mayo wrote that a well. I'm not seeing a plus secondary pitch early. He's thrown one change, a couple of 2 seam FB, a ton of 4 seam fastballs, and a bunch of curves, and as I mentioned the ASU hitters are making consistent contact with the curve.

* nice, easy delivery....and he uses his height & high release point to get good downward movement on his pitches.....like it!

* that has to be a fast-gun....no way he's throwing 95 (and as someone said above he's not missing many bats), but I'd guess it's "easy" 91-93 & that's good enough given the downward bite in his fastball

* that curveball needs a lot of work as someone mentioned above.... not much late bite ....but there's potential to make it a plus-pitch

* location is good (generally hits the catchers target)
