Ryan Adams Appreciation Thread v. 2.0

brettac1

I was hoping the old one would still be around, but it's long gone. So I figured I'd make a new one in honor of an awesome cover song that our hero unveiled last week:

The shows last week were stripped down acoustic shows, since Ryan hurt his wrist skateboarding and was unable to play. His voice was in pretty fine form, though, and the Cardinals are great.

And an FYI, his new album "Easy Tiger" is out on 6/26:

Appreciate away.

Great work Brett!

He hurt his wrist again????!!!!! Take it easy (tiger)!

Can't wait for the new disc. Ive been purposely holding off on listening to some live shows I have until Easy Tiger comes out.

Im bummed they backed it up to 6/26 though.

And Brett, shame on you and me for not keeping the old thread on the first page at all times. I vow to make a better effort this time around. Im sure with the new disc set to hit stores in a month that is should be easier.

Yeah, this was his other wrist, and it's just some sprained ligaments or something. He was also sporting a Layne Staley circa MTV Unplugged look last week:

The new album is going to be great. I was going to post a song from that same show, but maybe I'll hold off on that. "The Sun Also Sets" (the one I was going to post) has already become one of my favorite Ryan Adams songs, and pretty much every other song from "Easy Tiger" that I've heard has been excellent.

He's posting on the Ryan Adams Archive message board once in a while now. He says he definitely is hoping to make it to Milwaukee on the upcoming tour, which is looking like a late summer/early fall run.

To bump this up with some news:

www.ticketmaster.com/ryan..._home_4_f1

Pre-order the album via iTunes, get presale concert tickets if you so please (plus some bonus content).

And RyDogg - Milwaukee is most definitely on the list now for the fall tour:

I would assume that that is going to be that previously scheduled Riverside date being made up.

Brett - from what I gather, over at iTunes, if you pre-order easy tiger you will get a password from ticketmaster to buy tickets for the tour before general public. IF that is a format you dont mind having your music in, it might be worth it. Plus, it's only 9.99 an album over there.

Yeah, that's what the link I posted earlier in the thread was to, IIRC. I'm not a fan of the iTunes store, really, and pre-sale tickets don't mean they're all up front, or anything. That said, if they are, order one for me, pal.

By the way, Easy Tiger leaked late last night. It's a 128 KBPS m4a leak, but I can live with that until a better one comes along and then I can finally buy the album.

EDIT: This has been an unreal week for leaks, really - White Stripes, Ryan Adams, and then the topper, the new Iron & Wine leaked today (and it doesn't even come out until October). And, in the past couple weeks, the new Spoon and Queens of the Stone Age, as well.
