Gamel had that long hit streak a couple of years ago that was really impressive, but I don't recal a power display out of the Brewer system the magnitude of BK's. My goodness Bucci was so bad his ERA is up over 4 now.

The worst hitter on the Nashville squad, Eric Farris, batting 3rd, and top prospect Taylor Green batting 9th. Don Money is a knob. If he insists on being this idiodic, then Melvin or Ash really need to make a phone call and explain to him that you want the actual prospects to get the most at-bats.

How do you know Farris isn't an organizational priority? I think you're assuming a little bit too much given whom we're dealing with.

Final: @Nashville 7, Round Rock 6

Gamel Powers Sounds To 7-6 Win In Series Opener

Nashville Sounds

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Mat Gamel went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs to

power the Nashville Sounds to a 7-6 victory over the Round Rock Express

on Monday evening at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game series.

With the win, Nashville (28-35) snapped a three-game losing streak and

notched its 11th victory in the last 16 games played at home in Music

City.

Gamel's two-homer night continued the infielder's red-hot week at the

dish. In his last five games, he is hitting .385 (10-for-26) with four

home runs and 11 RBIs. It was Gamel's third two-home game this season

and the Sounds' eighth overall. He now leads the club with 13

roundtrippers.

Round Rock took an early lead against Sounds starter Josh Butler, belting a pair of first-inning longballs to jump ahead 2-0.

With one out, shortstop Omar Quintanilla turned the right-hander's 1-0

offering into his third home run of the season, a solo shot off the

clubhouse building in right-center. Two batters later, Express first

baseman Chad Tracy hammered a solo homer deep to left to double the

visitors' advantage.

Sounds leadoff man Brandon Boggs halved the Express lead when he opened

the Nashville first with his third roundtripper of the year, a solo

blast to right-center off Round Rock starter Brett Tomko. It was

Nashville's first game-opening home run since Adam Stern accomplished

the feat on August 30, 2010.

Gamel evened the contest at 2-2 when he led off the Sounds' second with

his team-leading 12th home run of the season, a massive solo blast to

right-center that bounded onto Chestnut Street.

Nashville broke the game open with a five-run outburst in the third against Tomko.

Eric Farris started things off with a leadoff double before scoring on

Gamel's second homer of the night, a one-out, two-run shot to right that

put Nashville on top, 4-2. The rally continued as the next three Sounds

reached to load the bases: Mike Rivera doubled, Caleb Gindl singled to

extend Nashville's longest hit streak of the year to 13 games, and Edwin

Maysonet was hit by a pitch.

Red-hot Taylor Green (2-for-3) unloaded the bags with one swing of the

bat when he laced a three-run double to right-center that one-hopped the

wall to make it a 7-2 contest. With the two-bagger, Green has now

recorded an extra-base hit in eight consecutive games and extended his

season-best hitting streak to 11 games.

Tomko (1-3) took the loss for Round Rock after giving up seven runs on

nine hits, including three homers, in his three innings of work.

Round Rock got three runs back in the fifth against Josh Butler, pulling

within 7-5. Joey Butler drew an inning-opening walk then scored when

Doug Deeds followed with an RBI double to right. After a Kevin Cash

groundout, Julio Borbon drove in Deeds with a single to left. Later in

the frame, former Sound Brad Nelson drew a two-out, bases-loaded walk

from Butler to force home Borbon with the inning's third run.

Josh Butler (4-4) earned the win for Nashville after working five

innings and allowing five runs on seven hits while walking four batters

and striking out one.

Left-hander Daniel Meadows made his career Triple-A debut for Nashville

and saw his first pitch as a Sound belted over the right field wall as

Joey Butler led off the Round Rock sixth inning with a solo homer. The

blast, the outfielder's third of the year, made it a one-run contest at

7-6 and extended Joey Butler's hitting streak to 14 games, the longest

by an Express player all season.

Right-hander Sean Green worked the final two frames in hitless fashion

for the Sounds, striking out four of his six batters faced, to earn his

third save of the year.

The teams continue the series with another 7:05 p.m. contest on Tuesday

night. Right-hander Mark DiFelice (2-1, 1.82) will toe the rubber for

the Sounds to face right-hander Tommy Hunter (1-1, 3.38), who is with

the Express on a rehabilitation assignment.

Nashville Box Score

Gindl finished 1-3; Boggs was 1-3 with a walk; Green added a walk to go with his two hits. Farris's double was his lone hit in 5 ABs.

Butler was unimpressive yet again, but Sean Green had a nice night. Daniel Meadows's AAA debut was mostly forgettable, but he struck out two batters & walked none in his two innings of work.

Nashville Play-by-Play

The decisive Nashville 3rd inning put them up 7-2:

Final: @Lakeland 13, Brevard County 6

Brevard County Box Score

Nick Bucci got rocked tonight, to the tune of 10 earned runs over 3.1 innings. Relievers Corey Frerichs & Rolando Pascual were better, but didn't have impressive final lines.

Scooter Gennett went 2-5 out of the leadoff spot, with a run scored & two RBI... but he also added three fielding errors. Kentrail Davis & Hunter Morris both went 1-4 with one single. Khris Davis was 0-4 with two strikeouts... but one RBI. Big Brock Kjeldgaard (the 'Tees' DH tonight) continued to rip up the FSL, going 3-4 with a triple. Shea Vucinich went 1-3 with a walk; Sean McCraw was 2-4, and Josh Prince went 1-4 with a double.

Brevard County Play-by-Play

The score was 7-6 after the Flying Tigers scored six runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. They tacked on three in the 4th, one in the 5th, & two more in the 8th to make certain of the victory. You can click the p-b-p link if you want, but it's not pretty after the top of the 3rd. To think -- a 6-1 lead after two and a half innings wasn't even close to enough in the FSL. *shrug* Go get 'em tomorrow, 'Tees.

Final: @ DSL Mariners 13, DSL Brewers 8

DSL Brewers Box Score

Leadoff man & awesome-name-haver Yonki Hernandez went 4-5. Francisco Castillo was 1-4 with three RBI & two stolen bases. Orlando "El Pirata" Arrrr-cia went 0-4. Jose Pena went 2-3 with a double, home run, RBI, & two walks. Deivi Mejia was 1-5; Juan De Leon was 2-4 with two singles & one walk. Carlos Pena was 1-4 with a walk & two runs scored; DH Jorge De La Cruz finished 2-4 with a double & RBI.

Starter Joel Dicent's final line: 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 2 K. Relievers Yheris Mateo & Juan Santiago flopped in their appearances. Angel Ventura came on & worked a scoreless bottom of the 8th.

DSL Brewers Play-by-Play

After falling behind 4-1 after the first inning, the DSL Brewers rallied back & took a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the 5th. The DSL Mariners tied the game in that frame, & the DSL Brewers pushed across one more to take the lead back at 6-5 in the top of the 6th. But the DSL Mariners' bats put everything to rest with seven runs in their half of the 6th, emerging with a 12-6 lead & enough damage done to take the win.

Here's the decisive frame... one to forget for the battery of Mateo & Pena:

Still 16 years old (until next month), yet 6'3", 215, LF Elvis Rubio was pulled (as we just bolded it above) at an awkward spot after committing two errors earlier in the inning. No word on if Elvis actually left the building.

If Brock Kjeldgaard makes the MLB squad, will Burger King take over for George Webb as a corporate sponsor? Because BK is sure having it his way!

Orlando "El Pirata" Arrrr-cia went 0-4. - We need to do better than this. Its like a bad joke in a bad B-movie... Granted, with a first name like Orlando, "Pirates of the Caribbean" fits there also. Maybe we should call him Edward Scissorhands! (ok, I'll admit to feeling stranger than usual this morning). Or more seriously, Orlando "Captain Jack" Arcia.

Left-hander Daniel Meadows made his career Triple-A debut for Nashville and saw his first pitch as a Sound belted over the right field wall as Joey Butler led off the Round Rock sixth inning with a solo homer.

A LOOGY in the making. At AAA, this year, he has a 9ERA against righties and a 0.00 ERA against lefties. Granted he has a 9K/9IP against both. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

Red-hot Taylor Green (2-for-3) unloaded the bags with one swing of the bat when he laced a three-run double to right-center that one-hopped the wall to make it a 7-2 contest.

There! I guess Money showed you guys a thing or two about lineups!

A couple more ideas:

Sticking with Pirates of the Caribbean: Orlando "Bloom" Arcia

NBA Themed: Orlando "Magic" Arcia

Is it too early for this?:
