Randy Wolf

4-4 | 3.49

Wolf had no-decisions in his past three starts. He's surrendered 12 hits and five earned runs during this three-game span, but also pitched 19 innings and struck out 15 batters.

Ryan Dempster

5-5 | 5.96

Dempster wasn't sure he'd make his last start because of a right hip strain, which he felt during warmups. He may want to re-think getting it fixed. He threw 113 pitches over six innings and got the win against the Reds.

I expect Kotsay and his career 1.017 OPS to start against Dempster.

I don't want that to happen, I'm just prepared for RRR to make that decision.

That was my first thought too. Kotsay's a lefty, he had a good game yesterday and he hit a home run off of Dempster one time in 2002.

For once, please lord, just once, can we discuss the game tonight rather than focus on the lineup. Most of the times we've trotted out the "worst lineup ever" posts, we've won more than we've lost and plowing through 2 pages of Chicken Little naysayers is wearing on me. This is meant to be fun, some BF Netters need a little perspective, methinks...

I'm not trying to be snarky, but why not write a post about the game tonight then instead?

So far the scrubs have rolled over in abject supplication to both the Reds and Classies pretty much every time they've played. It's time for ours, Chicago. Time for your crappy hitters to remain crappy, and for your crappy pitchers to remember that they're actually crappy. I don't want to see the scrubs suddenly turn into the 2008 Cubs for four days only in June.

It's interesting to see how the tables have turned recently. Back when the Cubs were an "actual" viable contender, rather than just in the minds of the uninformed bleacher bums, all you would hear was that the Brewers only ever raised their game when the Cubs were the opponents. Now we are saying that. I like this way better!

I know the Cubs are just god awful this year but I still have an awful feeling about this series. The Brewers could go on a 20 game winning streak and I would still worry about having to play the Cubs. I don't know what it is; just something about playing CHI that always makes me nervous.

I will be happy with a split in this series. Throw out the records, these series' are always crazy. Dempster is tough and can dominate when he's right. I expect a tough matchup tonight. I predict a 6-4 win where the Cubs out hit us but we muscle up more and take advantage of some walks and errors.

I enjoy being in the mindset where I have to think of how we might possibly lose a game instead of trying to contemplate what has to go right for us to get a win.

As bad as the Cubs have been against the Central this year (8-21), I think we really need to take this game as the Cubs are getting pieces back as this series goes on. Jeff Baker is due back today, Reed Johnson is due back tomorrow, and Soriano is due back Wednesday. Sounds like Kerry Wood is heading to the DL though, and Byrd is out for the rest of the month.

The Cubs always seem to find their best of the season against us. They've been getting shelled lately so hopefully that continues. And Dempster is due for a nice big 8 spot against us I think.

And as far as the lineup goes, any lineup that includes Wil Nieves is going to get bashed and rightfully so.

Here's the lineup...

Weeks 4
Kotsay 8
Braun 7
Fielder 3
McGehee 5
Hart 9
Betancourt 6
Nieves 2
Wolf 1

No surprises for me. Kotsay had a good game so Roenicke throws him in there again. I'd rather see Morgan. McGehee still hitting 5th for some reason. Betancourt playing again. Nieves is horrible. Overall, not great.

Almost game time boys. Wife been in labor since about 10AM. Thought the baby was going to come this weekend, but it didn't want to leave the womb until the Cubs series started. No need for congrats posts, I used all those up on Sat. when I thought for sure it was going to happen.

Hope we figure out Dumpster tonight. Pumped the delivery room has a nice fat sceen TV so I will be able to watch the game too! I don't thhink I could be mad today even if Yuni, Gomez, Kotsay, and Nieves were in the starting line up.

I don't know if shelled is the right word but we sure as hell have been bad. And running into a buzz saw of Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt in Philadelphia didn't help. Yeah we got slammed in Cinci and blew 2 games in St Louis after getting swept at home by Houston. If the Astros can do that, no reason why you shouldn't. (there maybe that'll be the kiss of death for ya.)

Good luck tonight and this series - Really I'd much rather see you guys win the division rather than the Cards or the Reds.

Ouch. Kotsay in CF again. That's all I'll say about the lineup.

Even with the Cubs being horrendously awful this year, these games are always a blast. As far as I'm concerned, the Cubs are the division leaders for the next four nights, Aramis Ramirez is still good at baseball, and Alfonso Soriano is not a bionic man. GO CREW!

I hope you mean that the recovery room or hospital room has a TV because if the actual delivery room had a TV, that's nuts.

Most deliveries now occur in the room you are staying unless it is a C-section. I think it is a hospitals way of trying to make you feel at home. That's why it costs $10,000 to have a baby. Someone has to pay for the flat screens! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
