Weeks 4 Kotsay 8 Braun 7 Fielder 3 McGehee 5 Hart 9 Betancourt 6 Lucroy 2 Marcum 1

Back to the old Roenicke tactics. Kotsay playing in CF for some reason and batting second. Betancourt back in the lineup. I don't necessarily have a problem with either playing, but I'd rather see Kotsay in RF, and I'd at least like to see Hart 2 and Kotsay 6.

Sha la la la la Sunday lineup. I figured Kotsay would be playing today. Get a good outing by Marcum and have those brooms on standby. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I tend not to get too upset about lineups, but this lineup makes me want to cry.

Edit: More rationally, I guess if you just swapped Casey and Hart I'd be less bothered by it. I think I'm mostly just upset by the cumulative effect of seeing Casey hitting 5th day after day. The one game he moved down I was happy to see it, and then right back.

You may run like Mays...

Ron Roenicke makes me want to break things. I'm betting Kotsay has hit Westbrook like 3/9 or something like that.

Edit: Kotsay is 7/24 with 2HR's against Westbrook. That's a .942 OPS. I do seriously hope Macha has not picked Kotsay due to the "matchup", but he never ceases to dumbfound me...

I actually don't mind the lineup too much. If it were McGehee, Kotsay, Yuni towards the bottom we start getting into black hole territory again. Kotsay 2, McGehee 5, Yuni 7 balances that out slightly more than if they were bunched together.

So they have a chance to kill a rally every inning, instead of just once every time around.

Exactly. LOL

My hope is the balance mitigates the opportunity to pitch around guys waiting for that soft underbelly of 5-9 we have seen in some games already this year.

If he'd bat Hart 5 and Lucroy 6, there'd be no need to spread the crap out throughout the whole order.

And yes, I understand that Lucroy's scuffling right now, but even a struggling Lucroy gives you a better opportunity for offense than Kotsay, Betancourt, or Mcgeehee.

You know that this will be one of those games where LaRussa tries to get under our skin early. I wouldn't be surprised if Prince gets hit his first time up and when we retaliate by hitting Pujols, Tony will want Jb Van Hollen brought in to prosecute the entire Brewer organization. I am sure that after the game it will then be brought up how the classy Cardinals are getting picked on.

I'd rather have Corey Hart in CF than Kotsay. If this is merely to keep Kotsay fresh and get him a start one day per week, I'm fine with that. But why does it have to be in CF? Is RR trying to turn back the clock?

All I can say is that it could be a lot worse. Gomez and Nieves could be playing. It's not horrible I guess. I'd just rather see Hart hitting 2nd, but oh well. I just really hate playing by the numbers with career stats like this. Kotsay is still Kotsay, no matter how well he hit Westbrook in the past.

Gomez's wOBA .291

Kotsay's wOBA .292

I'd much rather have Gomez playing.
