RHP Damon Krestalude was in his 4th year in the system, the Brewers' 17th round pick in 2008 out of a Florida high school. After showing some promise in that very first year in Maryvale, it's been a struggle (career stats). Unless you're a very prominent draft pick, it's tough to make a go of it as a high school pitcher. Here's wishing Damon well in future endeavors, baseball-wise or otherwise.

LHP Daniel Meadows was activated from his one-week stay on the Nashville DL, and then transferred to Huntsville.

The 23-year-old Meadows will surely still be an arm to follow.

As of this moment, the Stars are one over the 24-man roster limit. They have a doubleheader Thursday, and it could be that a formal roster move at AA won't happen until between games or until Friday AM.

RHP Roque Mercedes to Brevard County to square everything up.

RHP Hiram Burgos has been activated from the Brevard DL and gets the start Tuesday night.

To make room, C Mike Roberts goes back to the DL; it's pretty apparent Roberts was activated for a day or so while the 'Tees made sure Shawn Zarraga was OK after leaving Sunday's game with what was described as a "head injury".

What's also apparent is that MiLB is allowing the Brewers (and likely other clubs) to carry spare catchers (Patrick Arlis, Dayton Buller, Roberts) and store them on the DL. Buller may be out with an actual injury, but circumstances point to him being held on to as an 'as needed' guy as well.

The Manatees have adjusted their roster update with a follow-up press release. It is now Shawn Zarraga going on the DL, while Mike Roberts remains active. Hopefully just a precautionary 7-day move for Shawn.

good luck Kyle who spot will he be taking in the rotation?

Hopefully Fiers, with him also getting a promotion.

From the Brevard County front office staff, they do a great job behind the scenes for us and their contacts, even if they toil in the lower-media profile FSL:

- RHP Kyle Heckathorn transferred from Brevard County to Huntsville (as previously mentioned)

- RHP Santo Manzanillo transferred from Brevard County to Huntsville

- OF Chris Dennis transferred from Wisconsin to Brevard County

So we await word on how Huntsville will free up two spots, and who might eventually fill Wisconsin's and Brevard County's.

Given Melvin's positive report on Manzanillo, if he pitches well at Huntsville I could see him getting a September call-up
One thing for sure, it's 100% positive Mananillo will be added to the 40-man roster this fall. Baltimore would have actually been more astute in grabbing him than Adrian Rosario in the last Rule 5.

Hopefully Dennis to BC means Davis to AA which means Schafer to AAA which means Boggs to MIL which means Kotsay to the unemployment line.

Funny, I think I figured out why they are keeping Kotsay. When I typed Kotsay into my smartphone it wasn't in the dictionary and suggested "lordship". No, I am not joking.
