Come on Roenicke. You're arguing that?
I know. Of all the things he can argue, he seemed to get the most heated about that. Lol. Makes no sense to me.
Sometimes it's easier to vehemently argue things by the letter of the law than it is to argue subjective judgment calls. As BA and Rock said, by the rulebook it isn't an out (even though that is ridiculous). Arguing out/safe or ball/strike calls is really kind of dumb since there rarely is a contentious rule to actually argue about, it's just the way an ump saw it; at least until replay is instituted.

Bill has said that before about not being a catch until you take it out of the glove, but after looking it up, I think he is mistaken.

A CATCH is the act of a fielder in getting secure possession in his hand or glove of a ball in flight and firmly holding it; providing he does not use his cap, protector, pocket or any other part of his uniform in getting possession. It is not a catch, however, if simultaneously or immediately following his contact with the ball, he collides with a player, or with a wall, or if he falls down, and as a result of such collision or falling, drops the ball.

There is more to the definition there, but nothing that would make that play not a catch.

I'm not going to squabble about the difference between those lineups. Really, it's tough to complain about a lineup that doesn't have Kotsay, Gomez, or Nieves.

I will when a guy is 6 places out of where he should be. Morgan is probably pretty equal to Hart against RHP but is a far better hitter against RHP than Lucroy, McGehee and Betancourt.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Braun might steal 30 bases, but plays like that make me want to kick him in the pants.
