We need to kick these guys while they're down. Leake is the kind of pitcher that gives us trouble, but they showed last night that their pen is seriously overworked. If we can work his pitch count and get him out early, we could rock their pen. I'd like to see Counsell in for Casey today for that reason...work some counts and give Casey a blow, he could use a day off anyway. Bat Nyjer 2nd and put Hart 5th, Luc 6th. Just my thought for the day.

The Reds remind me a little of the 2010 Brewers...they have two major superstars carrying the team and score a ton of runs, but the starting pitching is faltering and is causing the bullpen to suffer. They do have a better defense though which helps them, but if the pitching doesn't turn they could be in real trouble.

Roenicke finally decided to give the struggling McGehee a day off. Now if he can just leave this lineup, except put McGehee behind Hart, then we'll be good.

Rickie Weeks 2B

Nyjer Morgan CF

Ryan Braun LF

Prince Fielder 3B

Corey Hart RF

Jonathan Lucroy C

Yuniesky Betancourt SS

Craig Counsell 3B

WOW, is this for real? There nothing to complain about here. What is everyone supposed to talk about now? The weather?

This is a big game. Leake could give us trouble as he's a soft tosser, but I hope not. If this lineup can produce, maybe it will allow RR to use it again, just with McGehee sixth. I hope so at least. I think it would do a great deal for the mental makeup of the Brewers if they can go into Cincy and win a series. Get rid of the demons we seem to have against the Reds and the "not winning on the road" thing too. Time for Marcum to redeem himself from that first start!

Prince at 3rd base - that should be fun http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Here is the reds lineup (OPS):

6 Renteria (.590)

Talk about a black hole, please do not throw strikes to Bruce!

Wasn't Renteria supposed one of those surefire huge upgrades to Betancourt?
Seeing as Betancourt's OPS is .574 he still is. Lol. At least Renteria has a .324 OBP.

Well there you have it...RRR checking the thread before putting out the lineup...

Weeks 4

Morgan 8

Braun 7

Fielder 3

Hart 9

Lucroy 2

Betancourt 6

Counsell 5

Marcum 1

Can someone explain what the numbers after each player means? I see this every game and have no clue what they mean.

Each number stands for a position on the scorecard. 1 - P 2 - C 3 - 1B 4 - 2B 5 - 3B 6 - SS 7 - LF 8 - CF 9 - RF

Not much of an upgrade, sort of falls into that its a wash category especially when factoring in that the WAR system isn't nearly accurate as getting into decimal places implies. Both aren't good, which is where most of the other scrubs mentioned in the preseason and early season would fall.
