Greinke's stuff wasn't nearly as poor as they made it out to be. The Reds just worked him to death but he didn't break. Kudos to Zack

Agreed. It was the walks that killed him and the Reds took just about every count to 3 balls.

"Not if he [Greinke] keeps leaving FBs between the thighs and waist over the middle of the plate. Next we'll read about his LOB% as flukey luck, but when you watch the games he tends to give up hits in bunches, and hits on bad pitches. I don't think anyone is every lucky or unlucky for an entire season."

You can use highschool math to estimate how much of the yearly change in BABIP can be attributed to statistical luck for the average pitcher. Go to Fangraphs and look at any starting pitcher's BABIP from year to year. It's pretty obvious that there's some luck involved. Here's Halladay's:

If you want to argue that his true talent at suppressing hits on balls-in-play jumps up and down every season, you are going to need to supply some evidence.

And the thing about BABIP is that a small difference makes for a pretty large difference in ERA.

I really think that the Reds are in the top 4 teams in the NL along with Philly and Atlanta. I know their rotation has some issues, but I wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs.

If the Brewers win that would be another $ off for the Mets series
So how exactly does that work? I might get tickets to the Thursday game.
Check this brewers.com link. Loge outfield seats will be either $14 or $13 (depending on how tonight's game ends) during the Mets series next week. Regular price is $30.
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Rluz i'm not getting into another circular debate about luck with you. Either you've seen the pitch location or you haven't... if you haven't then don't tell me a 52% LOB isn't sustainable... no kidding. He's not been unlucky, he just hasn't pitched well going back to last year.
