Zack Greinke

3-1 | 5.79

Greinke fanned 10 batters in his last outing and had command of his breaking ball. Count it as another step in the right direction for him. He also hit his second career home run in the win against the Nationals on Wednesday.

The IGT thread may very well have more fireworks than the game, especially if the Brewers are on the losing end. Let's go Crew, gotta start winning games like this one eventually (don't they?).

?? After sweeping the Pirates, Rockies, Nationals, and taking two of three from the Padres and Giants, just how many times do they have to win games like this before people stop thinking that they aren't winning games like this?

Those are some very nice home series you listed, I think cnycerveceros is talking about winning road games/series though. We certainly have to take advantage of tonights pitching matchup, there's no reason not to get a win tonight despite being on the dreaded.... ROADhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

If they are ever going to win another road game this would be it. A dominant Grienke start would be awesome tonight and if we can't hit this AAAA guy then you know the whole road thing is getting to the team. A nice 3-4 run lead after 5 innings sure would be nice

We can't be losing matchups like these! I predict a completely unreadable IGT if we get behind in this one. Come on Zack, shut em down!
The Brewers are the favorites but not by a heck of a lot. -130 moneyline. After you take away the vig, they are have a 55% chance of winning. So I guess we have a 45% chance of reading about how unbelievable it is that the Brewers are losing/lost.

But we don't make our lines on what will happen. We make them on what people will bet will happen. And all people have to do is turn over their betting slip and see the Brewers' record on the road and against the Reds (not to mention Greinke's ERA), and that is about all the information more than half the people who lay down money use. The typical American gambler does not look too deep, and that is what the odds and moneylines reflect.

Just to be clear, I don't think this is a must-win or anything like that, and I think the Brewers are good team. Still, you've got to win some favorable pitching match-ups on the road too. I'd like to see it tonight. If they lose, the season's not over and they're still good, and I'll still be watching tomorrow (if somewhat less enthusiastically).
You may run like Mays...

If Gameday is correct, the balls that Grienke is throwing couldn't be any closer to strikes if he walked up to home plate and set them on a tee. Almost all of them are touching the edges of the strike zone.
