Final: DSL Brewers 7, @DSL Mariners 4

Undefeated! Love those debuts on 99-degree mornings!

DSL Brewers Box Score

As the studious DSL fans may have surmised, 17-year-old RHP Osmel Perez got the Opening Morning start, and posted a decent line -- 5 IP, 5 H, 3 R (1 ER), 1 BB, 3 K, 1 HR, 1 HBP, FB/GB of 4/5

16-year-old SS Orlando Arcia is the new Brewerfan DSL cult hero after going 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring two runs in his professional debut, hitting out of the 2-spot in the lineup.

Others making their pro debuts were 19-year-old LH CF bat Ruben Ozuna (a new name and a productive game out of the 3-hole), 17-year-old IF Raphachel Colatosti (as a pinch-runner / defensive replacement), soon-to-be 18-year-old 2B Francisco Castillo, and 17-year-old RH reliever Pedro Peguero.

The DSL Brew Crew did all their offensive damage in the final three innings as they were handcuffed early on by the 3rd-year DSL Mariner starter.

Osmel Perez surrendered all three runs in the 2nd (again, just one earned) --

DSL Mariners Bottom of the 2nd

  • Axel Wel reaches on fielding error by third baseman Juan De Leon.
  • Janelfry Zorrilla homers (1) on a fly ball to center field. Axel Wel scores.
  • Miguel Sanchez doubles (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Ruben Ozuna.
  • Estarlyn Morales grounds out, second baseman Francisco Castillo to first baseman Deivi Mejia. Miguel Sanchez to 3rd.
  • Wilton Martinez out on a sacrifice fly to center fielder Ruben Ozuna. Miguel Sanchez scores.
  • Diego Mina singles on a ground ball to third baseman Juan De Leon.
  • With Luis Matias batting, Diego Mina picked off and caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Carlos Pena to first baseman Deivi Mejia.

That error was the only one by the good guys all game, always a good sign. Juan DeLeon would make up for it a bit with the bat on a double, single, and RBI, while seeing action at both corner infield spots.

Here's Pedro Peguero's debut inning, which made it 4-0 M's after six innings:

DSL Mariners Bottom of the 6th

  • Pitcher Change: Pedro Peguero replaces Osmel Perez.
  • Axel Wel grounds out, second baseman Francisco Castillo to first baseman Deivi Mejia.
  • Janelfry Zorrilla walks.
  • With Miguel Sanchez batting, Janelfry Zorrilla steals (1) 2nd base.
  • Miguel Sanchez singles on a fly ball to center fielder Ruben Ozuna. Janelfry Zorrilla to 3rd.
  • Estarlyn Morales singles on a fly ball to center fielder Ruben Ozuna. Janelfry Zorrilla scores. Miguel Sanchez to 2nd.
  • Wilton Martinez strikes out swinging.
  • Diego Mina grounds out, pitcher Pedro Peguero to first baseman Deivi Mejia.

NOTE: We'll do more analysis in the DSL team thread, but this year's squad looks to be almost identical to last year's squad, but there are definitely names (like CF Ruben Sanchez) which are not on the updated MiLB.com DSL Brewers roster page. Sanchez also does not appear on the Maryvale or Helena MiLB roster pages at this time, but remains in their data base. We may have to wait for the Rookie League seasons to begin before those pages update. That's usually the case.

DSL Brewers Play-by-Play

Here are your three productive innings down the stretch, scoring three, one, and three runs respectively, with Yuniesky Betancourt's 2017 replacement, Mr. Arcia, leading off nicely in both the 7th and 8th:

DSL Brewers Top of the 7th

  • Orlando Arcia singles on a fly ball to left fielder Estarlyn Morales.
  • Ruben Ozuna walks. Orlando Arcia to 2nd.
  • Jose Pena walks. Orlando Arcia to 3rd. Ruben Ozuna to 2nd.
  • Deivi Mejia out on a sacrifice fly to right fielder Gabriel Guerrero. Orlando Arcia scores. Ruben Ozuna to 3rd.
  • Raul Mondesi pops out to shortstop Luis Matias.
  • Juan De Leon singles on a fly ball to center fielder Janelfry Zorrilla. Ruben Ozuna scores. Jose Pena to 2nd.
  • Pitcher Change: Domingo Brazoban replaces Leoncio Munoz.
  • Carlos Pena walks. Jose Pena to 3rd. Juan De Leon to 2nd.
  • Francisco Castillo reaches on missed catch error by pitcher Domingo Brazoban, assist to first baseman Axel Wel. Jose Pena scores. Juan De Leon to 3rd. Carlos Pena to 2nd.
  • Yonki Hernandez flies out to left fielder Estarlyn Morales.

DSL Brewers Top of the 8th

  • Orlando Arcia singles on a fly ball to center fielder Janelfry Zorrilla.
  • With Ruben Ozuna batting, Orlando Arcia steals (1) 2nd base, . Orlando Arcia advances to 3rd, on throwing error by catcher Miguel Sanchez.
  • Ruben Ozuna singles on a fly ball to center fielder Janelfry Zorrilla. Orlando Arcia scores.
  • With Jose Pena batting, Ruben Ozuna steals (1) 2nd base.
  • Jose Pena strikes out swinging.
  • Deivi Mejia singles on a fly ball to left fielder Estarlyn Morales. Ruben Ozuna out at home on the throw, left fielder Estarlyn Morales to catcher Miguel Sanchez.
  • Offensive Substitution: Pinch runner Raphachel Colatosti replaces Deivi Mejia.
  • With Raul Mondesi batting, wild pitch by Domingo Brazoban, Raphachel Colatosti to 2nd.
  • Pitcher Change: Yunior De Jesus replaces Domingo Brazoban.
  • Raul Mondesi flies out to center fielder Janelfry Zorrilla.

DSL Brewers Top of the 9th

  • Defensive Substitution: Alexander Capriata replaces catcher Miguel Sanchez, batting 6th, playing catcher.
  • Juan De Leon doubles (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Janelfry Zorrilla.
  • Offensive Substitution: Pinch runner Joan Abreu replaces Juan De Leon.
  • Carlos Pena reaches on a fielder's choice, fielded by pitcher Yunior De Jesus. Joan Abreu to 3rd.
  • With Francisco Castillo batting, Carlos Pena steals (1) 2nd base.
  • Francisco Castillo reaches on a fielder's choice, fielded by shortstop Luis Matias. Joan Abreu scores. Carlos Pena scores. Francisco Castillo to 2nd. Throwing error by shortstop Luis Matias.
  • Yonki Hernandez singles on a fly ball to center fielder Janelfry Zorrilla. Francisco Castillo scores.
  • With Orlando Arcia batting, Yonki Hernandez caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Alexander Capriata to second baseman Diego Mina.
  • Orlando Arcia walks.
  • With Ruben Ozuna batting, Orlando Arcia caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Alexander Capriata to second baseman Diego Mina.
  • Ruben Ozuna pops out to shortstop Luis Matias.

20-year-old LHP Juan Santiago (no walks, that's good) and 19-year-old RHP Carlos Sosa (fairly impressive in 2010) got the win and save, respectively.

Man, the Rattlers are really snake-bit (wouldn't that be self-inflicted?).

SS Carlos George pulled up lame running out a groundout to the pitcher (he reeached on a fielding error), and was replaced by Yadiel Rivera. George had just come off the DL this past week for a similar area leg injury.

And I did as Mr. Mehring requested and sent this tweet to let him know the game's audio isn't functioning right now.

They'll probably fix this online later on, but catcher Martin Maldonado got himself kicked out of a scoreless game in the Huntsville 5th, yet his arm is so strong he can throw out a baserunner from the clubhouse http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif --

Huntsville Top of the 5th

  • Steffan Wilson singles on a line drive to right fielder Kyle Russell.
  • With Martin Maldonado batting, Steffan Wilson steals (1) 2nd base, . Steffan Wilson advances to 3rd, on throwing error by catcher Matt Wallach.
  • Martin Maldonado called out on strikes.
  • Huntsville Stars catcher Martin Maldonado ejected by HP umpire Jordan Ferrell.
  • Hainley Statia reaches on a fielder's choice out, second baseman Jaime Pedroza to catcher Matt Wallach. Steffan Wilson out at home.
  • Michael Bowman singles on a soft line drive to right fielder Kyle Russell. Hainley Statia to 3rd.
  • Logan Schafer lines out to second baseman Jaime Pedroza.

Chattanooga Bottom of the 5th

  • Michael Antonini grounds out, pitcher Michael Bowman to first baseman Sean Halton.
  • Elian Herrera singles on a ground ball to pitcher Michael Bowman.
  • With Brian Cavazos-Galvez batting, Elian Herrera caught stealing 2nd base, catcher Martin Maldonado to second baseman Hainley Statia.
  • Brian Cavazos-Galvez grounds out, second baseman Hainley Statia to first baseman Sean Halton.

Ross has only given up 15 ER all season, but he's given up 9 over his last 4 starts and hasn't made it out of the 6th in any of them.

Final: Huntsville 2, @Chattanooga 0

Michael Bowman turned in a fine start, 6.1 scoreless innings on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts. The Stars needed it too, because they didn't put a run on the board until the 7th inning. Lucas Luetge and Roque Mercedes finished off the shutout. Bowman was only 2-32 at the plate last season, but he had two hits tonight to bring him to 5-19 this year (.278). Andy Gonzalez and Steffan Wilson also had two hits; Wilson also swiped his first two bags. Logan Schafer led off and played center field; he picked up a triple in four at-bats. Erik Komatsu was 0-4 hitting second and playing right. Sean Halton was 1-4, and Lee Haydel did not play.

Bowman was removed after retiring the first batter in the 7th, with his pitch count at 92. The next batter was a lefty, so Mike Guerrero was probably just playing the match-ups. Bowman walked the tightrope in the 3rd:

Chattanooga Bottom of the 3rd
  • Matt Wallach doubles (4) on a line drive to left fielder Brandon Jones.
  • Jaime Pedroza singles on a line drive to right fielder Erik Komatsu. Matt Wallach to 3rd.
  • Michael Antonini strikes out on foul bunt.
  • Elian Herrera walks. Jaime Pedroza to 2nd.
  • Brian Cavazos-Galvez grounds into a force out, third baseman Steffan Wilson to catcher Martin Maldonado. Matt Wallach out at home. Jaime Pedroza to 3rd. Elian Herrera to 2nd. Brian Cavazos-Galvez to 1st.
  • Scott Van Slyke flies out to center fielder Logan Schafer.

Looks like the Lookouts tried to score the tying run in the 8th on a wild pitch:

Chattanooga Bottom of the 8th

  • Elian Herrera singles on a ground ball to center fielder Logan Schafer.
  • Brian Cavazos-Galvez singles on a line drive to center fielder Logan Schafer. Elian Herrera to 2nd.
  • Scott Van Slyke grounds out, first baseman Sean Halton to pitcher Lucas Luetge. Elian Herrera to 3rd. Brian Cavazos-Galvez to 2nd.

Final: @Brevard County 4, Jupiter 1

Frank Longobardo/Brevard County Manatees

VIERA, Fla. -- A strong start by Adrian Rosario and five Jupiter errors helped the Brevard County Manatees to a quick two hours and two minutes, 4-1 win on Saturday night at Space Coast Stadium. The win was the fourth in a row for the Manatees, which is now Brevard County's longest winning streak of the season.

Rosario went six innings - a season high - and allowed one run on six hits, while striking out three and not walking a batter.

Brevard County (19-31) got on the board first in the third with three runs. Juan Sanchez scored all the way from first after a throwing error by Jupiter shortstop Jeff Dominguez. Then with two outs in the inning, a Khris Davis double down the left field line scored Kentrail Davis and Hunter Morris followed with a RBI single to score Kentrail Davis, to make it 3-0 in favor of the Manatees.

In the fourth, Brock Kjeldgaard benefited from two Jupiter (24-26) errors as he led off the inning by reaching on a throwing error by Hammerheads third baseman Chase Austin. He would then go to second on a Scott Krieger ground out. Then as Kjeldgaard stole third, a throwing error by Jupiter's catcher Dallas Hord brought Kjeldgaard home to make it a 4-0 game.

Jupiter would score its only run of the game in the fifth as Daniel Pertuasi led the frame off with a double and then scored two batters later on a ground out.

For the Manatees, Khris Davis reached base in his 17th consecutive game as he went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI, walk and run scored. In his first game back from a brief promotion to Double-A Huntsville, Morris was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

The trio of Jon Pokorny, Efrain Nieves and R.J. Seidel combined for three shutout innings out of the bullpen. Seidel, also back from a brief stint with Huntsville, picked up the save.

Brevard County will go for the four-game sweep of Jupiter on Sunday evening, beginning at 5:05 p.m.

Hiram Burgos (1-3, 3.57) will take the hill for the Manatees, while Rob Rasmussen (4-3, 4.38) is slated to start for the Hammerheads.

Much better start from Rosario; though the Manatees staff struck out just three, walking none helps a lot. In the neither-here-nor-there department, Hammerheads starter Matthew Montgomery posted a 14/1 GO/FO. Scooter Gennett was 0-3 and one for his last 26 but at least drew a walk. Kentrail Davis was 0-4.

Final: @Kane County 6, Wisconsin 1

Chris Mehring/Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars scored four runs in four innings against Wisconsin Timber Rattlers starting pitcher Austin Ross on the way to a 6-1 victory at Elfstrom Stadium on Saturday night. Orlando Calixte drove in three runs and Lane Adams added two RBI to send the Rattlers to their fourth straight loss.

Kane County (22-27) took the lead with a two-out RBI single by Cheslor Cuthbert in the bottom of the first inning.

The Cougars tacked on three more runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Ryan Jenkins reached on an error to start the inning. Rattlers starter Ross walked the next batter and Adams followed with an RBI double that put runners on second and third. Calixte was next and his single to center plated two runs for a 4-0 Kane County lead.

Dan Britt relieved Ross to start the bottom of the fifth and got the first two outs. But, he walked Cheslor Cuthbert and Adams followed with an RBI triple. Calixte was next and his single drove in Adams for a 6-0 lead.

The Rattlers (26-23) broke through against Cougars starter Jason Adam in the top of the sixth inning on an RBI single by Mike Walker. But, that was all the Rattlers would get on the night. Adams allowed three hits and struck out three over six innings for his second win.

Mitch Hodge and Chas Byrne worked the final three innings for the Cougars. Wisconsin would get four hits off the duo in the last three innings, but could not dent the plate again.

The Timber Rattlers and Cougars continue their series on Sunday night at Elfstrom Stadium. Tyler Thornburg (3-0, 1.62) is the scheduled starter for Wisconsin. Sugar Ray Marimon (3-2, 3.32) is set to start for Kane County. Game time is 6:00pm with the Miller Lite Pregame Show on AM1280, WNAM starting at 5:40pm.

As noted above, Ross hasn't been as dominant lately as he was in the early going, and he certainly didn't throw as many strikes today as we're used to seeing, only 43 in 75 pitches. Nick Shaw was on three times with two hits and a walk. Walker also had two hits, including a double. As MH detailed above, Carlos George left with an injury. His replacement, Yadiel Rivera, committed his sixth error. Chris has been impressed with his defensive tools and from what I've seen on the highlights he looks great, but evidently he's still struggling with consistency. Reggie Keen stole his 21st base. Check out Chris's postgame thoughts, including the note that Shaw has a ten-game hit streak going and the humorous aside that Chris mistakenly referred to Britt as Brooks Hall for three innings.

Be gentle, it's my first time...

Final: @Nashville 8, Oklahoma City 3

Gamel Homers Twice, Sounds Down 'Hawks 8-3

Nashville Sounds

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - First baseman Mat Gamel belted a pair of home runs to

power the Nashville Sounds to an 8-3 victory over the Oklahoma City

RedHawks in front of 8,411 fans on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium.

Nashville (20-28) recorded its third win in a row overall and its seventh victory in the club's last nine home contests.

Gamel posted the Sounds' fourth two-homer effort of the year and drove

in four runs on the night to continue his recent hot hitting. The

infielder has hit safely in 15 of his last 22 games at a .378 clip

(31-for-82).

The Sounds took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning when

George Kottaras ripped a two-out double to right off Oklahoma City

starter Gustavo Chacin then scored when Taylor Green (3-for-4) followed

with an RBI single to left-center.

Kottaras went 2-for-4 on the night to extend his longest hitting streak of the year to eight games.

Gamel upped the Nashville advantage to 4-0 in the third when he belted a

homer for the second straight night, slugging a three-run bomb to right

to greet new RedHawks reliever Wesley Wright. Brett Carroll (single)

and Erick Almonte (walk) also scored on Gamel's blast, the first

baseman's seventh of the year.

The Sounds added another tally in the fourth when Caleb Gindl's

opposite-field single to left plated Green from second, as the infielder

just beat Brian Bogusevic's throw to the plate to extend the lead to

5-0.

Oklahoma City broke up the Sounds' shutout bid in the eighth when left

fielder Brian Bogusevic launched a three-run homer to left off reliever

Robert Hinton to make it a 5-3 contest.

Gamel struck again in the home half of the frame, drilling a line drive

solo homer to right off Francis Beltran for his eighth big fly of the

year to up the Nashville lead to 6-3.

The Sounds tacked on two more runs later in the inning. Pinch-hitter

Brandon Boggs lined an RBI single up the middle in his first appearance

for Nashville since mid-April. He had spent the previous five weeks with

Milwaukee. With the bases loaded and two outs, Brett Carroll hit an RBI

single to short to plate Green but Boggs was thrown out at the plate on

the play to end the inning with the Sounds ahead by an 8-3 count.

Sounds starter Josh Butler (3-3) picked up the victory by working six

innings of scoreless, two-hit ball. It was the right-hander's second

quality start of the year.

Chacin (1-2) drew the loss in his first start of the year for the

RedHawks. The southpaw was charged with three runs on four hits over 2

2/3 innings, coming out of the game in the middle of an at-bat in the

third frame after reaching his pitch count limit.

The teams continue the series with a 2:05 p.m. matinee on Sunday

afternoon. Left-hander Chase Wright (1-4, 6.23) will toe the rubber for

Nashville to face ex-Sound Nelson Figueroa (2-0, 2.63). The Oklahoma

City right-hander spent the 2003 & 2004 seasons in Music City and

ranks 8th in club history with 28 wins in those two years. Left-hander

Zach Braddock is scheduled to make the first appearance of his

rehabilitation assignment for the Sounds in the contest.

Nashville box score

- In an effort to allay Sessile Fielder's concerns, Mat Gamel hit two home runs tonight & bumped his 2011 SLG up to .522. As the article notes, he's been on a tear for almost all of May; over his past 10 games, he boasts an OPS of 1.016.

- Taylor Green's 3-4 night came (to the best of my knowledge) without the assistance of Emmy Lou Harris, making it a particularly impressive 3-4.

- Eric Farris singled, walked, stole a base, was picked off, & reached on a HBP. He also made a nice defensive play as a second baseman for the first out of the 4th. My note during the broadcast: Farris showed good range to his left to retire RedHawks LF Brian Bogusevic on a

grounder in the hole. Dove/slid to his knees, spun around while on his

knees, & threw out Bogusevic at 1B.

- Butler was able to put up zeroes tonight despite not being particularly efficient with his pitches: 104 total, 57 strikes & 47 balls. Two well-timed double plays in the 5th & 6th innings helped him big-time. The DP in the 5th came on a 3-1 pitch, after Butler had surrendered a double & hit a batter to start the inning.

- Hinton looked good in the 7th, with nothing hit hard against him -- a strikeout & two weak groundouts helped him work around a walk. Then he pitched the 8th inning. That didn't go so well.

- If you haven't listened to Sounds broadcaster Stu Paul, and didn't know he was from

Brooklyn, just listen to him once. You'll know after that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Nashville play-by-play

Nashville Bottom of the 3rd

  • Caleb Gindl flies out to left fielder Brian Bogusevic.
  • Eric Farris singles on a ground ball to second baseman Anderson Hernandez.
  • With
Brett Carroll batting, Eric Farris picked off and caught stealing 2nd
base, pitcher Gustavo Chacin to first baseman Koby Clemens to shortstop
Tommy Manzella to pitcher Gustavo Chacin to second baseman Anderson
    Hernandez.
  • Brett Carroll singles on a ground ball to center fielder Brandon Barnes.
  • Erick Almonte walks. Brett Carroll to 2nd.
  • Pitcher Change: Wesley Wright replaces Gustavo Chacin, batting 9th.
  • Mat Gamel homers (7) on a fly ball to right field. Brett Carroll scores. Erick Almonte scores.
  • Edwin Maysonet grounds out, third baseman Oswaldo Navarro to first baseman Koby Clemens.

Gamel was an Eric Farris gaffe away from a grand slam... if you believe in the predetermined outcome. Oddly enough, 'Hawks SP Gustavo Chacin hit his pitch count limit after throwing ball one to Gamel, so on came the lefty Wright. Mat the Batt got a belt-high 2-0 fastball, and didn't miss. He hit it out to straightaway RF, and as Stu Paul noted in his HR call, it was a line drive HR. Definitely mislabeled in the game log as a fly ball.

Okla. City Top of the 8th
  • Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Brian Dopirak replaces Douglas Arguello.
  • Brian Dopirak doubles (9) on a line drive to left fielder Jordan Brown.
  • Anderson Hernandez singles on a soft pop up to shortstop Edwin Maysonet. Brian Dopirak to 3rd.
  • Brandon Barnes strikes out swinging.
  • Brian Bogusevic homers (2) on a fly ball to left field. Brian Dopirak scores. Anderson Hernandez scores.
  • Drew Locke grounds out, shortstop Edwin Maysonet to first baseman Mat Gamel.
  • Koby Clemens flies out to left fielder Jordan Brown.

After the Bogusevic 3-R homer in the top of the 8th, Sounds SS Edwin Maysonet made a fine play up the middle on a grounder off the bat of 'Hawks RF Drew Locke. My note: Nice play by Maysonet, going up the middle, spun & threw a 1-hopper

to Gamel. Gamel stretched to his right & scooped the throw to just

beat Locke at 1B. Naturally, Gamel & Maysonet were the next two hitters for the Sounds to begin the decisive bottom of the 8th, as the 'Hawks had just climbed back to a 5-3 deficit:

Nashville Bottom of the 8th

  • Mat Gamel homers (8) on a line drive to right field.
  • Edwin Maysonet singles on a ground ball to left fielder Brian Bogusevic.
  • George Kottaras pops out to third baseman Oswaldo Navarro in foul territory.
  • Taylor Green singles on a line drive to right fielder Drew Locke. Edwin Maysonet to 3rd.
  • Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Brandon Boggs replaces Robert Hinton.
  • Brandon Boggs singles on a line drive to center fielder Brandon Barnes. Edwin Maysonet scores. Taylor Green to 2nd.
  • Caleb Gindl flies out to center fielder Brandon Barnes.
  • Eric Farris hit by pitch. Taylor Green to 3rd. Brandon Boggs to 2nd.
  • Brett
Carroll singles on a line drive to shortstop Tommy Manzella. Taylor
Green scores. Brandon Boggs out at home, shortstop Tommy Manzella to
    catcher Max Ramirez.

The Gamel HR here came on a 1-2 count; he knocked a hung curveball out to straightaway RF. Maysonet's single was hit under the glove of 'Hawks 3B Oswaldo Navarro. Both Boggs (6 pitches) & Gindl (10 pitches) turned in good PAs against 'Hawks righty Francis Beltran, fouling off several pitches. The Carroll single was a weakly-hit "liner" that Manzella gloved but couldn't catch; it skipped away from him, allowing Green to score. Boggs was out relatively easily at the plate, but given the nature of the play, his trying to score wasn't ill-advised in my opinion.

  • Brian Cavazos-Galvez singles on a line drive to center fielder Logan Schafer. Elian Herrera to 2nd.

  • Elian Herrera out at home, catcher Anderson De La Rosa.

From the Chattanoogan:

The Lookouts offense made some noise in the bottom of the eighth by having runners on first and second with one out. Scott Van Slyke then grounded out to first to advance both runners into scoring position. Huntsville relief pitcher Lucas Luetge then threw a ball that bounced off of catcher Anderson De La Rosa. The speedy Elian Herrera on third base then attempted to take advantage of the situation but was thrown out at home to quell the potential rally.

Rather than clutter up a worn-out Alumni thread, let's just say it's going to be fun to watch as Brett Lawrie will be called up any day now. In this age of incredible parity, the AL wild card race is there for anyone's taking, and Toronto (and its fans) should be energized big-time as Lawrie will fill a huge non-productive gap in the Jays' lineup.

Another incredible night for Lawrie

And yes, thank you Doug, and thank you, Shaun. It's OK for both sides to "win" a trade.

Be gentle, it's my first time...

Dude, you've set the bar way too high with that analysis.

Eric (Sessile) and I welcome Conor (TooLiveBrew) to our Link Report family. Especially once the rookie seasons begin, it's difficult for one and sometimes even two LR's (Link Reporters http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif) to give the nightly thread justice, although we look forward to the inevitable evening when TooLive has to detail all seven (or more) contests, as we've both had to do in the past.

We'll be easing TLB in over the next couple of weeks, and then you can expect to see him pick up a couple of games nightly for sure once the Helena and Maryvale kids are in action. We'll spread the wealth.

Eric and I had been commenting behind the scenes all spring how difficult it was to make the AAA Sounds interesting. Nice maiden voyage, sir.

Thanks.

With a lazy Memorial Day weekend evening, I was able to watch on MiLB.tv. I realize I won't be able to sustain that. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
