Yes, you would.

I'd consider him a solid #2. On our roster at the end of the year, he'll probably be our 3rd best starting pitcher though. That says more about how I feel about Greinke and Marcum and less about a slight on Gallardo.

There is a number between 1 and 3. He's probably a #2 at this point. He's also still only 25 and basically just needs to learn to trust his stuff a little more. Once he does, I think he will become a #1.

Gallardo has a career 3.78 ERA now, that is pretty solidly a #2 in the NL. Most pitchers don't last much past 6 innings on the regular basis, especially when they are only 25 years old. That is one of those things that will improve with time.
