2011-05-18 Brewers (Gallardo) at Padres (Moseley) - [Brewers win, 5-2]

Oh, and I'm now convinced that McGehee is slower than Prince. I thought they might be close, but that's not the case anymore.
I am 100% sure McGehee is the slowest player on the team and probably the league. Remember earlier this year he stole on a missed hit and run and was thrown out by an embarrassing margin. Seriously he should be ashamed by how much he was out

Why the hell is Yo up here? So he can MAYBE pitch one more inning? Stupid.

Arguably the best hitter available.

Yo is nice hitting PITCHER.

And Boggs is a terrible hitting fielder. They balance out.

Don't see how you don't try to go for the jugular and get a pinch hitter in that spot - Brewers seem to manage scoring the absolute minimum # of runs the team provides for them in spots like this.

2 Doubles, two walks and a hit batter all with 1 out and they get 2 runs while stranding 3

Goodness. This does not even pass the common sense test. It isn't even close. If it was, Gallardo would be pinch hitting all the time.

What the hell was RR doing there? Yo is way up in pitch count and the bases were loaded. He has no freaking idea how to manage a team...

Gallardo has a .238 OBP and Craig Counsel .327. If the odds of Counsel (or Boggs) getting on base are 1/10th better than Gallardo, I'll take the Gallardo AB and extra inning+ of his pitching as an exchange pretty much every time. We don't need 4 innings of this bullpen.

Let's look it it this way...which guy from the bullpen would you trust over Yo for another inning?

Wish we'd have gotten more than two there, but we'll take what we can get.

Random thought: if there is a twitter account for Dan Uggla's arms, Mark Kotsay's sideburns are worthy of their own twitter account, too.

Definitely would've went with Craig to pinch-hit for Gallardo there. He is great with the bases loaded historically. Needed to get at least one more run in there. Not sure why Roenicke always seems to wanna push his starters an extra inning. We have tons of multiple inning guys in the pen right now.

Weeks has never hit a GS, and I think it's starting to get into his head. He has put together some absolutely dreadful at bats with the bases loaded this year. Those are often the difference between wins & losses, and he's 0-5 with 4k's in those spots now. At least put the ball in play and give yourself a chance.

If we had a decent backup IF I'd bench him tomorrow. You don't need to take a *!*+%+ violent swing there and try to hit 500 ft. So bad.

Embarrassing. Here I thought someone from the Scioscia tree was suppose to be tactical and shrewd. I've seen NONE of that in Roenicke.

Scioscia is a buffoon and has been since day 1, so I don't know why you'd expect otherwise. His teams give away outs like it's going outta style.

Starting pitcher performance degrades significantly over the course of a game. That's not my opinion, it been proven statistically. If Yo is a true 3.8 ERA pitcher on average, he's in the 4's after 100 pitches. I will gladly take that 10% extra chance of a non-out for 1 inning of Yo at 100 pitches.
