I'm glad Kotsay got that hit, otherwise it seems some of you would be headed to his house with pitchforks and torches.

It's not his fault Roenicke is playing him in CF so I'd be headed to RRR's place.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

One question why would you try to steal with Braun at the Plate. Overaggressive baseball sometimes comes back to bite you in the butt.
Braun has twice as many singles as homeruns this year and with the Brewers struggling to score runs, I can see why they are trying to get a guy to second base. Not to mention they were 2 for 2 tonight in attempts.

I don'[t have a problem with the steal attempt. Everyone has been stealing on the Padres, it looked like Corey was safe, a hit then scores a run, it' s tough to hit homers in Petco, Braun only has four doubles this year, and even if he's out it guarantees that Braun and Prince will start off a fresh inning. Really no problem here.

My wife calls him "Yusuckskie Badatsports".
That's outstanding. It's on a par with the adjective we cooked up in the chat last month: Yunieskiesque. I enjoy saying that and typing it.

Mrs. ttsather would clearly do just fine around Brewerfan. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I would have at least liked to see a hit and run. It hurts to end an inning with Braun at the plate. He might have twice as many HR as singles, but if you only have a 50% chance of stealing the base, it's a wash.

50%? The Crew was over 80% with 12 consecutive successful steals. The Padres announcers have been talking about how they have been unable to throw anyone out. Plus, he WAS safe. I don't think anyone thought the odds were 50%. No one has argued about our steal choices over the last few weeks......because we haven't been caught. But eventually you do. I really think people are looking for things to hate on right now rather than letting that hate happen organically.

In 2010, Corey Hart had 7 stolen bases and was caught 6 times. So 50% isn't that unreasonable, although if you consider the game situation maybe he had a 2/3 chance of stealing the base.

But my point is that the Brewers shouldn't be stealing with Braun at the plate. That's a valid criticism.
