Yeah, let's hear it. Pitcher doubles, one of your better hitters is up in a 2 run game and you have him drop down a bunt....in the third inning? Why are we playing for ONE run at this point. It's the top of the order for crying out loud....

Especially when you consider how miserable we are with a man on third and one out. I'm stunned when we score from this spot sadly.

I'm listening not watching but why the hell did Rickie bunt when there isn't even a DP possibility? I am so sick of giving away at bats and outs from good hitters. It's been killing crooked innings all year.
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Ok, everyone, let's hear it about bunting there.
He was trying to bunt for a hit, so that makes it a lot more forgivable. It's the straight sacrifice (where the corners get to crash in on) that are so bad.

How many times have our good hitters bunted this year? Or even our bad hitters?

I am not Shea Vucinich

Horrible at bat by Braun. Two defensive swings and a whiff.

Kuroda has some pretty filthy stuff.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

Like I said, absolutely terrible with a man on third and one out. Because it's hard to hit the ball...at all.

Leadoff double by the pitcher and a walk in the inning and we can't score a run. It's so infuriating. 18 men left on in 12 innings, 2 total runs scored. AWESOME.

On the bright side, we're getting guys on. Hopefully we can keep doing so. When Kuroda has gotten behind hitters, he has looked very pedestrian. When he's gotten ahead, well...that's when the filth comes out.

I get a lot more upset when there are no base runners at all. At least there is some action. This is a good pitcher in a pitcher's park, so this is what you get. Still a lot of time left.

It's amazing how many guys are left on base. When you look at STL's box scores you always see Berkman, Pujols and Holliday picking up RBI's. Our guys never seem to come thru.
They had 13 hits tonight and scored 2 runs.

Pitchers park may have cost us in the first inning, but not in the third. Pitchers parks have no bearing on getting a single or putting the ball in play with a man on third and driving the run in. It seems that every time we get guys on base, we get over anxious, swing for 3 run home runs and lose all semblence of basic, fundamental baseball. I understand we're going to fail in that spot, but we fail way, way more than we succeed, it sure seems so at least.

Someone brought up the Cardinals middle always picking up RBI's and they do. Good teams find ways to score a run here or there, manufacture runs. Not find ways to not score like we do.

And I don't care what the argument is, unless that's the GW run on second, you don't have your third best hitter in Weeks bunt with a man on second and no outs. It's just a waste.

It's easy to draw that conclusion when your team is doing nothing to drive in runs but every team has these issues. When things are going really well, not so much, but not many teams do this at an extremely high level all year.
