Catching Duo for 2012

brewmann04
I was thinking with Lucroy having a nice season so far at the Plate and doing well on the defensive side.I was thinking we could Team him with Martin Maldondo as next year catching duo and This will give the Brewers a super defensive backup

Maybe Jonathon Lucroy and then Jonathon Lucroy with a fake mustache to fool Wolf.

This cracked me up. Jonathan could enlist the advice of Katin, Gamel, & Reed in Nashville if he needed mustache help.

Why would he enlist the advice of amateurs when he can go to Axford??? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

My guess is Lucroy and Kottaras.

Kotteras was passed up by Nieves and now Rivera. He is headed in the wrong direction.

Rivera was brought up as a righty bench bat.

I realize that is the company line, but I'm not believing it yet. Katin would have made a better choice if they only wanted a RH bat. Gamel would have been the choice for a LH bat. It might be true that Rivera had a June 1st clause in his contract, but we will see what happens when a few guys come back from the DL: Who is DFA'ed Nieves or Rivera....

My vote would be for Lucroy and anyone not named Wil Nieves.

If Rivera sticks this year and plays reasonably well, I could see him back next year. Otherwise, it's probably between Kottaras and Maldanado. If I were GM, I may just ask Wolf who he prefers, as the backup catcher could simply be designated to Wolf with Lucroy catching everyone else.
