Please no Gomez #2, please no Gomez #2, pleas no Gomez #2

Does this mean you'll be happy if it's Kotsay #2?

That would be "be careful what you wish for."

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Garland really owns; still have to be happy we miss Kershaw, Lilly & Billingsley though. The ever elusive road win; sure hope we can go 2-2 on this quick trip. 3-1 and I would be estatic.

Wouldn't be surpised to see Boggs or Kotsay in CF tonight with the right hander pitching.

we have 7 hitters that are hitting over .300 against Garland and 4 hitters over .400 and 5+ ABs.
I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.

Just getting ready to leave for the game. Monday night at Dodger Stadium vs. the Crew...pretty easy ticket to get out here.

Last year they were able to win 2/3 vs. both the Dodgers and the Angels...hopefully we can keep the streak going! I'm taking my oldest daughter tonight...she has never seen the Brewers lose and Ryan Braun has had a extra base hit in all 4 games.

The Badger alumni group will be out there as well...they have had some nice groups out there the last few years.

We got 2 tix behind home plate for about 1/3 of face. Tomorrow night is a little more...it's Clayton Kershaw bobblehead night. Rather have his bobble than have him pitching.

It's chilly out here...not Wisconsin chilly, but cold for out here. The McCourt stuff, the Dodgers not playing well, the beating of the Giants fan...all not helping attendance out here. It's kind of sad...they actually have a great fan base out here, but it hasn't been the same since the O'Malleys sold the team.

I wish someone would ask Roenicke point blank why he thinks Gomez deserve 1 more PA per game than Lucroy

You must have missed his explanation, it was a head scratcher. It was something to the effect that Lucroy is important in the 8th spot because he clears the pitcher from having to leadoff an inning, as if that's somehow more important than having more runners on base in front of Braun and Fielder home runs. He lost me a little bit with that one, I've been trying to be patient with him considering I was so critical of Macha's handling of young players.

It was a video interview during one of the broadcasts recently.

He said the same thing tonight:

Roenicke also talked about how successful Jonathan Lucroy has been in the No. 8 hole in the lineup, one of the reasons he doesn't want to move the catcher up higher in the order.

"I'm not saying he's going to always be successful there but I think he will be because of his approach," said Roenicke. "He is very patient. He's gotten some huge hits for us down there. He's doing so good in that No. 8 spot I don't really want to move him. That guy has to get the pitcher up there so he won't lead off the next inning and he has done a good job of that."

Well, at least Jon is starting the vast majority of games now. Though it definitely isn't optimized part of me likes a balanced lineup where the threats are spread out so no inning is a gimme. But as long as just about everyone is swinging the bat well it doesn't matter much what order they're in.

Truthfully, as much as everyone criticizes Roenicke for keeping Lucroy in the 8 hole, I have to say it does make some sense. The 8 spot is really a difficult spot to hit in, and it is important in the NL. Everyone saw how Hardy struggled in the 8 hole years back. So it is good that Lucroy is hitting well in the spot. It definitely makes our lineup stronger. Now if only Hart could get going so he can fill the 2 hole. Then we'd have a very solid lineup. We just need to get Gomez out of that 2 hole is all. Doesn't have to be Lucroy to replace him if he's succeeding elsewhere in the lineup. I'd like to see Hart be there.

Ok Ron, well then why not put Braun or Fielder in the 8-hole? Oh, because it's more important to put your best hitters in run-producing spots in the order? So why does that not apply to, arguably, the 3rd or 4th best hitter in your lineup this year?
