UFC in Milwaukee Aug 14

That is a pretty strong headliner for a VS card. Lytle doesn't usually have dull fights, and I'm sure Hardy will stand and trade with him. Actually, while not a ton of huge names, all of those fights should be entertaining. I'm surprised Pettis isn't fighting, thought they would get him a tune-up with the delays with Edgar. Is he hurt? He is probably the biggest Milwaukee fighter, they usually try to bring in the hometown boy.

Pettis is way too big right now to waste on a free card.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

I wouldn't say that necessarily. At this point he is a WEC crossover. I believe Condit made his debut on a Spike card, and he was arguably a bigger name when he crossed over. When it comes down to it, it seems the passing MMA fans are not that interested in the lighter weights, they want to see the big boys bang.

I only meant lackluster in the sense that the headliner fight has a guy on a 3 fight losing streak in it. Excited to see Hardy and Lytle stand in the center and just bang though.

Any idea where to go for tix? I went to the UFC website, and they don't have this event listed yet.

Pettis vs. Guida at the Ultimate Fighter Finale is on Spike (June 4th).

This upcoming fight and, with a win against Guida, being the #1 contender for the lightweight title. There isn't much chance he fights the Milwaukee show. I'd go but I have a feeling tickets will be pricy.

Since the previous discussion about the card, they've added Benavides-Wineland, Dolloway-Hamman, and Bruce Leroy-Leonard Garcia. Also, Danny Castillo-Volkmann has been downgraded to unofficial, while Makdessi-Paul Taylor has upgraded to that status.

The theme of the card so far is lowish on caliber, quite high in excitement. You're going to see a lot of stand-up wars with these matches (not that I don't enjoy a nuanced BJJ contest).

Now that Pettis "lost" Dana better include him in the card if he wants to get off a losing streak quickly and fight in front of a supportive crowd. Pettis hardly complained about losing the title shot and was willing to take as many fights as required to get what he was originally promised. Put him on there against Evan Dunham. Also, Ben Rothwell against Schaub for more local flavor. One of those could be the main event. Something has to trump Lytle-Hardy, which will be anti-climactic from a relevance standpoint.

Anyone attend the show live? I had to work, so I DVR'ed the show. Really liked the Henderson/Miller fight. The main was pretty good too. I fast-forwarded all of the promos and commercials. Did they show any Brewers on tv?
