One of my pet peeves is people complaining about strike outs by your leadoff hitter. There is no spot in the order that a K hurts you less than the leadoff hitter. They come up with nobody on more than any other hitter on the team and a K is the same as any other out in that situation. You want a good OBP obviously but you can strike out plenty and still carry a good OBP.

Middle inning note. Do any of you guys know when Braddock is set to come back? I watched him in Appleton and he looked great.

First day he's eligible to come back is Monday.

Can someone describe what this Weeks/Cedeno incident was for those of us without the benefit of moving pictures?
Weeks basically stopped running and Cedeno ran into him. This upset Cedeno since Weeks may have braced for the impact a bit with his shoulder.
Things would have been fine, but Cedeno apparently said something as Weeks was starting to walk back to the dugout. Weeks turned around and said something like "come on, man" like Cedeno said something stupid, they start arguing (but nothing too confrontational), and then the benches cleared.
I liked the guy coming in from the pen way late like he was in the bathroom.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Does Yuni ever take a first pitch?

His batting average is over.300 when he swings at the first pitch so I say swing away.

His batting average is probably that high because he hits pitches he likes on the first pitch. That stat is like the "he doesn't hit well with 2 strikes" stats. Most hitters probably hit well on first pitches just like almost all hitters hit poorly with 2 strikes.

wasn't it something to do with Braun and Matt Capps? Also they don't like that we crush them every year.
Matt Capps threw at Prince's head in 2007.

Ryan had the nerve to be happy about a pennant race changing grand slam in 2008.

Jeff Karstens plunked Ryan in 2009 and Ryan mouthed off about it a bit after the game.

And yeah, there was that lengthy win streak over PIT, then a lengthy home win streak over PIT.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Exactly so if he swings he likes it and the result is better than letting a groove ball go just to take a pitch.

To be fair chickinbrickin was referring to a 1st pitch where YuniB swung at a curve ball at his ankles.

I"ll agree with not swinging at bad pitches but like Ender and his peeve with people worrying about K's, I don't put a lot of stock in the taking first pitch strikes just to take a pitch and fall behind 0-1.
