2011-05-11 Padres (Stauffer) at Brewers (Wolf) - [Brewers lose, 13-6]

So I just finished my cumulative final for the year (and passed it, 2 years down, woo), and then I deposited a monster tax return. I think to myself, could this day get any better? Then I get home, crack open the Lakefront I've had reserved just for today, and turn on mlb.tv to see Yuni give the brewers the lead....and Uecker is on the call? TODAY IS THE BEST DAY.

Reserve that "best day" comment until after we win http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

fair enough. either way, that was the best 25 minute stretch I've had in quite a while.

I don't know about anybody else but Gregerson sounds like a made up last name
Holy crap, I was about to post this. It sounds like a name someone makes up on the spot when lying to someone.

"What's your name?"

"My name? It's uh...Luke...Greg...er...son. Yeah. Gregerson."

The Happy Youngster got #200. Hopefully he gives it back for nothing.

I'm sure he'll give it back as long as he gets Prince's bat signed by the entire team, half of Prince's next contract, five game balls and a season tickets for life.

Everything's comin' up ninja33! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Here's hoping the Brewers stay ahead to keep your day going good.

Also, I took a photo of the 8-0 on the scoreboard last night with the specific intent of posting it on Facebook later with the caption "Is this real life?" Great minds think alike.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Maybe he'll insist that Prince remain a Brewer. I don't know whether to put this in blue.

Your belief is based on some very bad logic.
Really? So what you're saying is you have no problem at all with your leadoff hitter striking out 184 times per season? Ok, I disagree with your "logic" then.

If Weeks has a strong OBP (in other words he makes outs at a low rate), has good power, and runs the bases well, why does it matter *how* he makes his outs? Would you argue that he is a "good" leadoff hitter if, instead of striking out, he grounds out to third 184 times? Please explain why you think that the type of outs he makes negates the fact that he is good at getting on base and good at hitting for power?

I know many have argued on here that K's are not that big of a deal as they are as unproductive as any other out. My belief is that a leadoff hitter has an important role for setting the table for the middle of the order and also later on in the game, picking up the runners on base after the pitcher commits an out in the 9-spot. It's obvious to me that putting the ball in play gives your team a better opportunity to score runs (sacrifice fly/groundouts) than K'ing and doing nothing. I don't mind K's as much from middle of the order hitters where it's more than acceptable to have the expectation of a higher K rate as you're called upon to drive in more runs and swing for the fences.

Late notice...does anyone know how to change your server, proxy, IP address or whatever it is to be able to watch the game on mlb.tv?

I'm sure if you search on Google, you'll find a number of sites that might tell you how.

This game is making my head hurt.
- Padres with 14 hits

- Brewers coming back from 5-0 with this line up

- Kotsay drawing the walk with 2 outs to start the 2 out rally in the 5th.

- McGehee with a great play then forgets to call time, lobs the ball to the pitcher and Bartlett goes to 3B.

- Weeks with a great play

- Yuni with a homer

I have no idea why this is strange to you http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

i know i posted a bad comment about Wolf earlier, and i've mostly defended him in the past, but it's been a rough couple of weeks for the team and i'm probably just down on everything for the moment.

If we didn't have a 4 man bench, we could pinch-hit Gomez here and not have Kotsay face a lefty. He's lucky to get a walk there.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.

Sorry for the snarky link, but I just love that site and don't use it enough.

Agreed on the props to Kotsay. I'm not as big a hater as many on the site but when he came up against a lefty I stopped watching until late in the at bat when it looked like he might draw a walk. I guess lightening can strike twice.
