This game is making my head hurt.
- Padres with 14 hits

- Brewers coming back from 5-0 with this line up

- Kotsay drawing the walk with 2 outs to start the 2 out rally in the 5th.

- McGehee with a great play

- Weeks with a great play

- Yuni with a homer

I have no idea why this is strange to you http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

There's a US Cellular ad blocking my view of the score on Gameday, and I can't for the life of me find where to close the dagnabbed thing.

Since I can still see the scoring plays, however, woot, Yuni. And Nieves even got a hit. This is bizarro game.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

So I just finished my cumulative final for the year (and passed it, 2 years down, woo), and then I deposited a monster tax return. I think to myself, could this day get any better? Then I get home, crack open the Lakefront I've had reserved just for today, and turn on mlb.tv to see Yuni give the brewers the lead....and Uecker is on the call? TODAY IS THE BEST DAY.

Reserve that "best day" comment until after we win http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

For some reason, the ad that's supposed to be in the bottom right likes to hang out in the middle of the screen. Been happening to me for a week or so now.

I'm saying he profiles more as a #3 because of power and OBP. He profiles less as a #1 because of his K's. That's my belief.
Your belief is based on some very bad logic.
Really? So what you're saying is you have no problem at all with your leadoff hitter striking out 184 times per season? Ok, I disagree with your "logic" then.

If Weeks has a strong OBP (in other words he makes outs at a low rate), has good power, and runs the bases well, why does it matter *how* he makes his outs? Would you argue that he is a "good" leadoff hitter if, instead of striking out, he grounds out to third 184 times? Please explain why you think that the type of outs he makes negates the fact that he is good at getting on base and good at hitting for power?

You disagree with the "logic" but you fail to offer a counter statement for why strikeouts matter more or less in the #3 spot compared to the #1 spot. If you are going to knowingly make comments that are going to generate disagreement, then it is important that you provide some sort of basis or argument for your side of the debate.

I think most people on this site would not care if Rickie Weeks struck out 250 times as log as he had an .830 OPS with 83 RBI. The purpose of a leadoff hitter is to get on base and score runs. Weeks does that. So as long as he keeps his OPS up, who cares how he makes his outs.

It's fine to have a debate, but one-liners are better suited for other online message boards.
