I would rather have Kotsay in CF than Fielder, but it's close. That is about as positive as I can get about Kotsay in CF. Fielder in CF would at least be entertaining.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

Well Gomez clearly needs 2 days off in a row

I don't even know what to say about this. It just makes no sense. Roenicke does n't even have the "hot hand" excuse.

Kotsay last 7 days: .100/.100/.100
Kotsay last 14 days: .175/.222/.235

And every start means more PAs for Kotsay which means the Brewers pay him more money.

On a whim, I wondered if Kotsay had done well against the Angels in his career, but he hadn't. Even in Kotsay's best season (2004) playing with the A's, he stunk it up against the Angels; .233/.309/.283/.592 in 16 games.

It's just clear Roenicke likes Kotsay, nothing more than that. No amount of numbers or logic seems able to change that perception.

I think I'm more concerned that Kotsay is batting second, than playing CF. The general belief was that Hart would be going back there when he started getting back in the groove of things. Being back or not doesn't justify keeping him 6 while Kotsay is 2, IMO. This lineup makes me question if Hart really is ever slated to go back to 2.

Kotsay hit an absolute bomb of a flyball in the 8th inning last night. Maybe it just died because it was late and it was a bit chilly, but I just do not think he has the ability to hit anything but singles and an occasional double.

They always seem to win with the "give up" lineups and we need Lucroy's legs to stay fresh.

To make matters worse, Gomez is actually the one with a hot hand right now. Over 1.000 OPS for the past 7 days, .899 OPS for May. Roenicke is just dumb, plain and simple. I would take Macha over him x1000. It takes very little intelligence to manage a baseball team but Roenicke seems to lack even that meager amount.

Gomez could have some sort of injury issue and that would explain Kotsay's presence, but my opinion on Roenicke won't change because of it.

RRR seems to be a bit out there, but I would never take Macha over him. Hahaha. I'm still trying to feel him out.... This lineup.....hmmmmmm, not sure what to think about it but I guess rest is needed at times. I'd rather see Braun get a day off over Gomez.

I have officially given up on Ron Roenicke. He has absolutely no understanding of how to field the best team given a roster. I'm fine with Lucroy getting the day off, but why Gomez?

Roenicke has now made me believe he is an idiot.

Edit: How many runs below average (rough guess) is this lineup defensively? Could this be a record?

Weeks: -5, Braun: -10, Kotsay: -30, Hart: -5, Fielder: -5, McGehee: -5, Betancourt: -10, Nieves: 0, total: -70. Unfortunately, I think I'm being generous.

why, what's with Wolf not wanting Lucroy as catcher?

maybe RR actually doesn't like Kotsay and is doing his best to show DM how much Kotsay needs to be released by playing him. sly.

excited i have the day off and will get to watch the game on mlb.tv. just started. sweet.

Way to go MLB. Blacked out for me. Is anybody in the typical blackout zone able to watch the game?

I love how they say it's free, then you click and it's blacked out. If we go to MLB.com using a proxy server in another country or another state, could that bypass the blackout? The blackout is only for Wisconsin right?
