It's time that Lucroy quits batting 8th... he's a better hitter than that.

I have a by of a man crush on LuCroy. If he could start hitting with more power, itd be full blown.

I know Lucroy didn't show much last year but he's hitting the way I hoped he would this season, remember that he once hit 20 HR in a minor league season, he's not devoid of power.

I liked what I saw last year, though. While he didn't walk much, he seemed to have a pretty good sense of the strike zone and he had a nice, compact swing. Lucroy seems like a guy who could consistently hit .270 with around 10 homers. It's nice to have a catcher who isn't a lump of meat at the plate (and who can run a bit, too, despite his base running gaffes this season).

I do like Nieves behind the plate, though.

I could spend all night, every night, picking on Bill like the boys at Fire Joe Morgan did broadcasters, but it's not worth the time as he's not going anywhere... this most recent gem about baserunning mistakes being okay if you learn from them... well... how long have these guys been playing baseball? How long does it reasonably take? Gomez has been making the same baserunning mistakes forever, if he hasn't learned by now... Most of the regulars have at least 4 years of MLB experience, when will they figure out how to run the bases? Shouldn't it be something that you at least would figure out by the time you get through the minors?

Amen. He's been very impressive this year.

He should be batting second or after Hart, assuming Hart gets things going and stay in the six spot. If Hart gets bumped to the two hole eventually, i'd bat Lucroy after McGehee.

In game report: the Briggs and Stranton Power Fan of the Game was a starfleet officer (TNG, red command shirt) surrounded by about 5 other officers. My inner geek was happy they won.

He is a better hitter than .270. I think he has potential to be a .290 hitter once he gets settled in, and the power will come. He hasn't even really had much of a chance to get his feet wet in the majors.

I don't doubt it at all. I probably should have said "at least" or "at worst" .270.

Has there been any other pitcher more similar to Greg Maddux than Shaun Marcum?

According to baseballreference, Don Sutton is the most similar pitcher to Maddux. Marcum's most similar is actually Yo. I'm assuming these are stat-based and not style.

This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.
