I find it impossible to hate Gomez. He plays with heart and desire. I will take gold glove defense and his effort on my team anyday. I will take that over above average offense and awful D. You really need to hit if you cannot defend.

I think most of my hate for the guy came from the fact he was always in the two hole, and either couldn't get on or made outs on the bases in front of Prince and Braun.

I don't think many really hate Gomez. It is Gomez hitting second that people hate. I can live with a crappy hitting center fielder who plays good defense hitting 8th. A crappy hitting centerfielder batting 2nd, not so much.

I wasn't going to watch or pay attention to the game today, but when I checked to see what time we were playing so I could know when to check and see the score, I noticed we were....winning and figured I should tune in to watch...the offense.
