Wanted -- lefty reliever (Latest: NL Central club inquiring about Rockie Franklin Morales)

Braddock is in a sleep clinic somewhere. Parra's career as a Brewer may be over but he never could get lefties out anyway. Stetter is, well, Stetter.

 

Perhaps the closest in house option is Dan Meadows who's off to a nice start at Huntsville. He had a fine year at Brevard last year. Anyone have a scouting report on him?

 

Seems to me this team needs to go out and get themselves a lefty reliever somewhere. Anyone know who could be available?

Have to believe it's the Brewers showing interest and why wouldn't they with their lefty reliever corps of Sleepy, Hippy, and Bashful all on the DL?. Question is what would they want back? Estrada?

Why would they have any interest whatsoever in this guy? Is it the 1.5 plus career WHIP or the fact that he walks over 5 guys per 9 innings? He sounds like the Rockies version of Manny Parra. Why would you trade Estrada for him?

Outside him, I don't think the Reds and Brewers are a match in that department.

It's inherently difficult to trade this time of year because few teams will be convinced that they're out of it. Even if they are convinced, they'll wait for a market to develop for their marketable guys.

 

The Brewers' best shot right now would be to go after a AAA guy. I'm not sure that they'll do that in the near future with Braddock coming back and Stetter presumably not out that long. I do believe they will trade for a good, veteran LOOGY if they are still in it come mid-late July. But that's down the road quite a bit. Impossible to know who they'll target.

 

I just hope it isn't Franklin Morales. Dude walks a lot of guys.
