So dumb that Kotsay is starting in RF. I get that Hart wouldn't be able to play both games yet, but why not just start Gomez then? At least Gomez can field. I can already predict the lineup for Game 2. Weeks Gomez Braun Fielder McGehee Hart Betancourt Nieves Greinke. Same junk. I would've gone with Weeks Morgan Braun Fielder McGehee Betancourt Lucroy Gomez in Game 1 and Weeks Counsell Braun Fielder McGehee Hart Gomez Nieves in Game 2, or vice versa.

The assumption is that Estrada will be sent down after his start to make room for Greinke. Is Marco allowed to hang out in the dugout with his teammates for game 2 or does is it a MLB rule that he HAS to leave once he's optioned? Just curious.

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

Seeing Lucroy out of the 8-hole is encouraging as he is clearly the 6th best hitter in the lineup (and possibly 5th with the way McGehee has looked lately). Of course, given that, he should be batting 6th....

Yep, they should've just taken out Kotsay then, and went Lucroy, Counsell, Gomez at 6, 7, 8.

I would rather have Gomez in as well. But everyone gets a day off I guess and the outfield will be different for both games of the doubleheader. If the pitching is good both games we get at least a split today.

Is Hanson particularly good against righties or particularly bad against lefties compared to Hudson? Wouldn't you want at least one left handed bench bat? This also means that in game two we will likely have all left handed bench bats. The exception is Boggs, but does he really count? Not to mention the OF defense is much weaker with both Morgan and Kotsay in at the same time.

The sooner RRR realizes that Kotsay is useless, the better. I was very disappointed to see the change to remove Hart. If you want to pull Hart for an outfielder who can't hit, fine, at least pick the one that can field.

If these are the guys he is going to put in the lineup, I actually like the order quite a bit. Alternating R/L bats throughout.

All else being equal, I also like alternating L/R bats. But, when all else is not equal (i.e. the bat of Lucroy vs. Kotsay) I think this can be overrated, and prefer batting the better hitter higher in the lineup. Lucroy should always be batting ahead of Betancourt, Gomez, and any RF other than Hart, IMO.

I am not worried about one lineup spot. Even if it was over a whole season it wouldn't make much difference. Kotsay instead of Hart, Boggs or Gomez on the other hand.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

But I just solved all the Brewers' offensive woes!

I just think Roenicke has had an issue so far this year with not grouping all our best hitters together in the lineup, which may be in part responsible for our inability to put together rallies without the help of the long ball. When players like Gomez, Betancourt, Kotsay, Almonte have been put in the middle of the lineup, breaking up our best hitters (which Lucroy is a part of), they can be rally killers. Not saying it would solve the offense's problems, but I think it's contributory in its own small way.

I have no idea really, but I'm not sure why he would have to leave.

Why? Players that are not on the 25 man sit in the dugout, like Hart before he was officially activated. Wouldn't it be basically the same circumstances? I assume the league has a policy against just anyone being in the dugout, but he would have a reason.

Maybe the Dodgers should start selling dugout seats to celebrities to handle their cash flow problems. Just think what press Charlie Sheen would have going crazy in the the dugout.

Yeah, but those players are on the DL, and still technically on the roster. Estrada wouldn't be on the roster. I feel like in the playoffs also, anyone not on the roster isn't allowed to be with the team.

Looks like there are about as many people at the game right now as there were when the game was about to begin last night.

Even when it still looked like they were about ready to play at the regular game time, I could just about count the number of fans there. My brother and I asked an usher if we could just go sit in the lower box section, but we were denied.
