OF D'Vontrey Richardson, RHP Corey Frerichs, and LHP Mike Ramlow have all been placed on the Brevard County 7-day disabled list.

Richardson is due back before too long (hip). Frerichs did appear in spring training, Ramlow did not, no word on either situation. Ramlow had shoulder issues late in 2010, but did appear in games late last season.

Dan Merklinger has cleared waivers and been re-assigned to Huntsville

That's good to hear.

On the flip side, if Brae Wright ever makes it back to the mound, there should be some fireworks that night. Not that he was/is such a high prospect, but wow has it been a long injury road for him...

Edwin Maysonet is now listed with the Senadores de San Juan. Does that explain his absence from the Nashville Roster?

Also, Mike Roberts is not listed on the Brevard County roster now, but Brevard it is listed as his current team under his profile.

Left over from last year. Roberts, along with C Sean McCraw, SS Michael Marseco, and IF Joey Paciorek didn't make a full-season squad out of the gates and have been assigned to Helena's roster.

EDIT: RHP Alex Periard, too. He's probably on a DL somewhere, but until we hear, he'll be with Helena.

Nashville Media Notes:

HINTON, WRIGHT TO HUNTSVILLE, ARLIS INACTIVE: The Sounds made three roster moves this afternoon to finalize their 24-man active Opening Day roster. Relievers Robert Hinton and Chase Wright were re-assigned to Double-A Huntsville, and catcher Patrick Arlis was placed on the rookie-level Helena roster but will remain with the Sounds as an inactive player.

***

We knew about Arlis earlier. As for the pitchers, where Huntsville will find room, we don't know. Perhaps they won't have to make room until Friday.

Robert Hinton was originally listed in the Stars' game notes for today, but an updated version without him was sent out, so he must have been sent elsewhere. As for Chase Wright, he's apparently taking Erik Komatsu's spot; Komatsu isn't listed on the roster.

Both Hinton and Komatsu still appear on the Stars' MiLB.com roster; we're trying to figure out where they really are.

EDIT: Komatsu is on Helena's roster. He's obviously got some sort of injury. Hope it's not serious.

Nashville Media Notes:

WHEELER PLACED ON D.L., GREEN JOINS SOUNDS: Third baseman Zelous Wheeler was placed on the disabled list today, retroactive to yesterday. To fill his spot on the active roster, infielder Taylor Green joins the Sounds from Double-A Huntsville, where he opened the season by hitting safely in his first three games at a .364 clip (4-for-11). The 24-year-old native of British Columbia, Canada will make his career Triple-A debut upon his first Sounds appearance. Entering 2011, he carries a .280 career batting average in 493 minor league contests and was the Brewers’ 2007 Minor League Player of the Year.

Also, Caleb Gindl was indeed placed on the DL as of 4/9, and catcher Patrick Arlis was transferred to the Nashville active roster.

MiLB.com confirms that LHP Daniel Meadows went from Huntsville's roster to Brevard's on the 9th, and Brevard's back to Huntsville's on the 10th.

Hopefully there was a round trip bus ticket purchased for that Jacksonville to Melbourne round trip.

No word at this time as to the nature of Zelous Wheeler's injury.

In Wheeler's last active game (Friday), he was thrown out at the plate in the 4th inning, but finished the game and walked in each of two subsequent plate appearances. Perhaps a delayed reaction / result from a collision? We'll learn more.

INF Taylor Green moves up from Huntsville to Nashville, the Stars' roster is at the league limit of 24. We imagine Caleb Gindl has formally hit the DL, which would get the Sounds to their own 24-man limit.

Good to hear. I'm a big Taylor Green fan. Clearly he hit a rough patch with the wrist and hasn't fully come back from that, but I think he's still a very important piece for the Brewers. I'd love to see him be playing 3rd and hitting 2nd for this team in the near future. I think he can be a prototypical #2 hitter, get on base, hit 13-15 HR's a year and play good defense at 3rd.

From the Nashville Media Notes:

WRIGHT ADDED TO ROSTER: Left-hander Chase Wright joins the Sounds today from Double-A Huntsville, bringing Nashville back to a full 24-man active roster. He fills the spot vacated yesterday when Brandon Kintzler was recalled by Milwaukee. In two relief outings for the Stars, Wright -- who spent the entire 2009 & 2010 seasons with Nashville -- allowed one run on six hits over 5.1 IP.

No word yet on a corresponding roster move at Huntsville.

As mentioned for possible discussion in the Major League Forum, OF Jeremy Reed has accepted his outright assignment to Nashville.

The Sounds will need to free up a roster spot, it's possible SS Edwin Maysonet may hit the 7-day DL, but nothing official yet.

EDIT 1: Haudricourt corrects himself; Reed hasn't decided whether or not to accept the assignment.

EDIT 2: Haudricourt back with round three; Reed has accepted the assignment
