Worst Brewerfan Thread of All Time/WOAH (UN)SOLVDD

Funketown

At the suggestion of mothershipconnection in the Betancourt thread. What are some of the worst (or best) threads in the history of Brewerfan?

I'll start by nominating the never ending circular debate of the Betancourt thread.

Since most of the greats have disappeared into the aether, and I'm too lazy to look through everything, I'll go mostly with themes rather than specifics

Markwitx' "reported by Buster "Onley", Sheets is out for the year".

Betancourt thread,

[legendary banned poster] "stats are stupid and I was pretty much almost close to sort of an NCAA baseball player so I know more than you" threads

Ben Sheets got fat and lacks the eye of the tiger threads

Political threads started by a former member who couldn't spell and got angry when anyone suggested spell check or firefox.

Strikeouts are as bad as six other outs

Jenkins is the worst, Ks too much and never does anything clutch

Who's the ace based on wins and team winning percentage in his starts?

Zombies! No, wait, I enjoyed that thread.

I hate bf.net. Actually, that was kind of funny too.

There was a thread some time ago where one (now-banned) poster had a questionable theory about why handicapped parking spots weren't necessary.

And who can forget the "Doug Davis' arm is cached" thread? Someone heard it in a bar, so it had to have been true.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

The Betancourt thread isn't terrible in the way that many of the other threads are that have been immortalized around here. Many, many of the threads that have led to posters getting banned haven't had any semblance of a well thought out argument in the entire thread. The circular debate in the Betancourt thread is tiring, but the arguments are not epically futile or indefensible like some of the threads of ole...

I'll say this, anytime a single poster seems to have every other post in a thread I'm going to start skipping past what they are saying, it's just not worth reading the same thing over and over.

I remember one towards the end of the 2009 season (I think), where the OP was really asserting we could still make the playoffs. There's one thing to be optimistic, there's another to be downright naive.

All the "We need pitching! Sign Sheets!!!" threads after the 2008 season got pretty bad as well.

That guy wasn't even on the team. I think he caught a few of the pitchers or something in off season workouts.

Here he is in all his glory:

That ex-sort-of-DIII-NCAA-player guy is classic. I love the guys who believe that those who lack the ability to play baseball are incapable of conducting an objective analysis of baseball.

Brian had talked about doing an amnesty day for all the banned posters. In a way I hope he doesn't because I guarantee I'd get nothing done that day.

Maybe not the worst of all time, but one that we chatted about at the Winter Meeting in March: "Ben Hendrickson traded to Royals."

That was classic. Mrs. Hendrickson coming on to apologize for her husband. I wonder what Ben is up to these days? And I wonder if his dad still blames the Brewers for everything?

EDIT: Just looked him up...he's 30 years old already. Wow time sure flies.

Ex-husband, actually.

Yeah, that's right. She was super nice. He was....not.
