Jason, I might be able to sub once in awhile, if you guys are looking for a slap hitter with no speed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif I work in Neenah, so I'd be pretty close. Is there a pitch ceiling in your league?

I live in Neenah, so I may be interested as well. Can you give some details about your league? I'll warn you, though. It's been 3-4 years since I played baseball in high school, and I haven't had a chance to practice much since. I'm sure I'd enjoy it though.

the pitching can range from a moon ball to a groove ball just depends on how good the pitcher is. Most pitchers in that league aren't very good. There are a couple that can pretty much throw the ball to the sky and land it anywhere they want Just inbox me and let me know. Like i said, we look for subs often on this team, probably 4 or 5 times already this year.

I grew up in Neenah

And you escaped? Lucky you. I moved here. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Actually, it's not terrible. But it has grown waaaaaaay too much in the last 10 years (since I moved here). Have you been back lately? Doesn't much look the same, does it?

Maybe it's just the St Germain/Eagle River (hometown) in me, but I'm really getting tired of the growth. Pretty sure we know have one of everything somewhere in the Valley.

Yup Neenah has just been exploding. I lived there from '91 to '03 and then graduated. I always liked the city - great place to raise a family, but not the greatest place to be in your twenties...

st. germain? i love st. germain! i've been going up there on vacation with my family for years and years.

classic st. germain:

fibbers (love the name, and its right on big st. germain lake)

the pub and prime (best prime rib ever)

cathy's ice cream (can't beat the rocky road)

elmer's go-carts (fastest go carts i know of)

fstorm1, my dad lives in St. Germain. It's a really nice area. But when it comes to everyday life, I prefer the city. I enjoy going up there for a weekends here and there though

My dad, and his wife as well as my brother and his family live there (my mother and here ENTIRE side of the family live in Three Lakes). I agree that it's much easier to live in a larger area (I've also lived in Milwaukee), both for convenience and also economically. Horrid trying to make a living up there. We were just up their last weekend. Love it, go up whenever we can.

Yep, you nailed all the things that people mention after vacationing there. Still, no one really know's the crowning jewel: friday fish fry at Angry Dave's (the former Butch Door). Best I've ever had, hand's down.

Fstorm... I actually went to Angry Daves last summer right on 70 after a round on the links at St. Germain Golf Club (another great thing about st. germain)... but I only had a few beers. Wasn't it the Dutch door? I remeber the bartender was pregnant and extremely unfriendly. But now maybe i'll have to give it another try for the fish fry.

Yeah, was The Dutch Doors for years and years. I believe it was last year that it became Angry Dave's. The bar area leaves a little to be desired...every time I went in there it was, well, "northwoods red-neck" city*.

Go for the fish fry on friday. Skip the bar, just head straight into the dining room. Chances are 3 to 1 you'll get a teenager to wait on you, and they serve exactly like you'd expect a teenager (the one waitress we could always count on, Carmella, wasn't there this last time we went, she is quite dependable for 130 years old**). Anyway, it's the food, not the service.

*No disrespect to the "northwoods red-neck" intended; nothing wrong with NASCAR and guns***

**Carmella is not 130 years old, she only seems that way to me, as she worked with my father many, many, MANY years ago.

***My brother happens to be a "northwoods red-neck", defined as "one who has at least 3 cars and/or motorcycles in driveway, only one of which runs; more that 75% of clothing has a NASCAR or NASCAR related emblem(s) attached; at least 5 guns, only one of which is properly hanging, unloaded, on the wall or in locked cabinet.

Wow, I know Carmella! That's amazing. She used to waitress at another restaurant. I can't remember where it was. I used to go to Dutch Door to eat when I was a kid, but I haven't been there more than once or twice since it switched over to Angry Dave's. My favorite place for friday fish fry is Sister's. It's just west of St. Germain on Hwy 70. I've also been to the other places mentioned. It's definitely a popular vacation spot.

Ah sister's saloon on fawn lake. I've been there countless times. It's basically your standard up north dive tavern... but for some reason I love that place too. They always make a good stiff drink... I was there for their halloween celebration a few years ago and that was a lot of fun.. Once again have never eaten there tho. I save my eating for the pubnprime.
