Mobile Phone Internet Connectivity at Miller Park

jjkoestler
Does anyone know why the internet on mobile phones is incredibly slow at Miller Park? My reception and speed of texts is also quite bad and fluctuates throughout the game.

I was at the game on Tuesday and my iPhone on Verizon didn't seem to have any troubles, but my friend who was calling and trying to meet up with me couldn't get a call out on his iPhone on AT&T. We laughed about it because he always has trouble at Badger football games and I have never had an issue on Verizon while there, even during the Ohio State game last year. I was taking pics and sending them out no problem after the game and he couldn't send anything. We've noticed it at his cabin up near WI Rapids, the iPhones on AT&T can't get a signal but Verizon & US Cellular (which share a network in much of WI) were fine as were non iPhone AT&T phones.

AT&T's coverage at Miller Park is terrible. I previously had a BlackBerry and could never do anything other than make/receive calls, same with my iPhone. I wish there was something that could be done to improve connectivity because it's kind of annoying to have a phone that is a brick. The friend I go to 20-pack games with is on US Cellular and he has no problems. I also have a friend with an iPhone on Verizon who reported no problems, so it's basically AT&T.

40,000 or 10,000 or whatever people all using the same cel-tower with the same relatively limited bandwidth. That's why it's slow.

This year we have been to the stadiums in NY, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Minnesota, and DC with an Iphone and received next to no service but in Baltimore we were find but there were probably only about 10,000 people there. In Minnesota they have a free wi-fi setup and you get much better internet then you do through A T and T.

WiFi that's available throughout the park would be the best thing. It'd also be an alternative for placing calls if users loaded up a VoIP app.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
