Infield hit by the pitcher and an HR golfed from Phillips' knee and that was it.
I was coming here to post that, too. We were thisclose to a no-hitter.

Overall, very good game. Nice and quick, great pitching all around, some homers, and a win. C'mon Crew, get the series win tomorrow.

Got a kick out of the Cubs website's message board. There is a 3-page thread started today entitled: No doubt...we sign Fielder now.

Also got a good laugh out of another thread dedicated to Mike Quade now complaining about the weather the Cubs have to deal with playing in Wrigley. Priceless stuff.

Nice game, this. I don't know how many times I've gone to the park looking at a lineup that doesn't favor the Brewers on paper, but works out in reality.

Mad props to Marco Estrada. You can't ask for much better than he gave. He's pitching like he wants to make Milwaukee think twice before sending him back to Nashville. The Brewers haven't been perfect this month by any means, but I'm impressed that they have treaded water as well as they have, given the roster challenges they've faced.

The chant while Leake was batting was either "Leake" or "Thief" - I couldn't tell. Sadly, there was no Jane's Addiction played, and although Leake got on base, he didn't try to steal anything (that I noticed).

Since the roster moves happened so close to game time, we had no idea why people were cheering so in the 7th until Corey appeared, and did not realize what had transpired to get him back on the roster until we got home. He was a sight for sore eyes, even despite his utter lack of eye-candy factor. May Tuesday's game be the last time we see Mark Kotsay in the starting lineup - not to mention batting 5th! - for a while.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
