I have a lot of sympathy for Mike Leake. When you walk a mile in another man's shirts, then you can judge (the quality of your now free shirts).

Go Brewers!

McGehee is apparently available to pinch-hit if needed, but we do remember when Rickie Weeks was also "available" the day after he hurt his pinky and wasn't used when the Brewers needed a late-inning pinch hit.

There's no "deadline" to activate Hart as long as it happens before the game, so if they decide Almonte can't go and they need a bat, they could activate him at the last second. I'm more worried about what happens if another infielder gets hurt during tonight's game.

i wouldn't wish getting hit in the face on anyone....but they HAVE to activate Hart and send Almonte down if he can't play, right? It's a tough break for Almonte, but he's going to go down soon enough anyway.

They could conceivably use the new 7-day DL for concussions if they could get that diagnosis, but that doesn't seem like something that could be done an hour or so before the game. If they would have activated Hart (using that tense because it seems pretty clear it's not happening tonight), they probably would have optioned Kintzler or Braddock since they're likely unavailable tonight anyway.

Edit: Well you know what they say about assuming things. Brewers Live announces Hart activated, Almonte to the 7-day DL.
