Hopefully the return of Hart (tomorrow?) means an end to the embarrassment of having Kotsay start regularly AND Gomez batting 2nd. It's just insane that Gomez currently has a .287 OBP and that's only 6 points below his career OBP! Who the hell would think that is a good choice to bet before Braun and Fielder?

I know, let it go....... I wish I could.

With the current lineup, I would move everyone up a spot and move Gomez to 9th. My second choice would be for Kotsay to hit 2nd. While he isn't an ideal long-term choice in that spot, he is currently getting on-base (.388 OBP).

The sick part is I agree Greg.

How bad is it when Kotsay is currently the best option (debatably) to hit 2nd. I'd hit Lucroy there personally.

“But Gomez is fast and can steal bases so he has to bat 2nd. A catcher can't hit in the 2 hole Ron. Why would you ever do something smart like that?” -The little devil on RR’s shoulder talking to him as he fills out the line up card.

Boy would I love to get to Arroyo early and often and destroy the Reds bullpen for the rest of the series. The crew will have to take some pitches for that to happen. I wish Hart was back. Those 6,7,8 hitters are just plain ugly, although they've been playing decent lately. Anyone know when Plush comes back?

kotsay hasn't been too bad lately. and he has had success against arroyo.
Kotsay's success against Arroyo almost certainly dates back to Arroyo's days with the Red Sox, if that gives you any indication of the time frame.
Not to mention it's mostly from when Kotsay was actually good.

Why can't Brandon Boggs be gritty?

So, just so I know.. you're upset about Mark Kotsay starting. The guy who, after a very slow start is currently riding a .388 obp and has been .500 obp and.929 ops for the last 7 days and .414 obp and .734ops the last 2 weeks.

And you'd prefer.. who? Brandon Boggs?

Really?

Gomez has a .356obp and a .786ops the last week and has looked pretty good lately and absolutely amazing in the field.

Maybe its time to lighten up a little and just enjoy some decent baseball?
